Excursions include visits to local waterfalls, grottoes and dolmens.

• Ancient dolmens are one of the most popular attractions of Akhipo-Osipovka. They are burial stone multi-ton structures located in the vicinity of the village. Presumably, the dolmens date back to the third century AD, located close to each other, in incredible numbers - there are about fifty of them here!
• It is in Arkhipo-Osipovka that the famous Mikhailovskoye fortification is located, created in 1837, the purpose of which was to protect the coastal coastline and the village from attacks by Caucasians. During the period of intensification of hostilities in the Caucasian war, it was Arkhip Osipov who decided to blow up the gunpowder warehouse where he himself was located, along with the enemies. In honor of this heroic self-sacrifice, the cross mentioned above was erected in the village.
• The fortification itself was not destroyed, on the territory of which a museum of the history of the Caucasus, a museum of Bread and Wine, and a windmill were opened. Here you will be given fascinating excursions from the times of ancient artisans and winemakers of these regions, and will be told the history of the Caucasian War.
• In the village, you can visit the archaeological excavations of a Roman watchtower dating back to the first century AD. In the vicinity of the village there are many burial mounds of ancient peoples.

St. Nicholas Church

St. Nicholas Church was built thanks to the initiative of the Cossacks in 1906.
The royal treasury donated 9,000 rubles for its construction. True, subsequently the temple suffered greatly, lost its icons, church utensils and was turned into a food store .

The second birth of the temple took place on December 15, 1992. The church was completely restored, a central dome and a bell tower were erected, where bells were installed, and the roof was covered with copper plates.

When to choose a holiday is up to you to decide. Some tourists begin their vacation in May and early June, although during this period the water is not yet warm enough, and the nights have a cool temperature for summer.

The month of July is the peak season for the village, a distinctive feature is the density of the population of Arkhipo-Osipovka with tourists, an increase in prices. However, all attractions and entertainment for children, without exception, will remain open.

Based on reviews from vacationers earlier, the month of August will be ideal for holidays with children. Since the number of tourists is already decreasing, the water temperature is warm enough and the nights remain warm.

House with deer

When entering Arkhipo-Osipovka from Gelendzhik, vacationers are greeted by a completely unusual house , built of wild stone .
On its roof, red deer listen sensitively to the slightest rustle, at the gate a clumsy bear begs for a treat on its hind legs, and a bat perches on the gable.

On the house itself and around it there are more than fifty figures of animals and birds , which were sculpted by the forester V.M. Sofronov who lived here in the middle of the last century.

Arkhipo-Osipovka has a large selection of hotels, guest houses, recreation centers, and boarding houses. Before choosing a specific option, you should pay attention to the distance of the proposed location from the beach. Some boarding houses are located a 20-30 minute walk from the beach, so it is worth considering the age and convenience of such accommodation for your child.

Guest houses are very popular, and their main target group is often couples with children. Such houses have different pricing policies, depending on the comfortable conditions and location relative to the sea. Taking into account the recreation of children, many guest houses equip their courtyards with playgrounds and swimming pools and include meals.

Wherever you choose, in terms of housing, you do not need to worry about the infrastructure of Arkhipo-Osipovka. Since, despite the status of the village, it is quite developed here. There is a large selection of cafes, pharmacies, restaurants, there is a hospital and medical centers.

Teshebskie waterfalls

Teshebsky waterfalls (sometimes called Gebiussky or Bigiussky) are located six kilometers east of Arkhipo-Osipovka.
Very close to them is the Novorossiysk - Dzhubga highway (from the last waterfall to the road - 500 m). Seven waterfalls are located in a 1 km section along the river.

The height difference from the first waterfall to the last is approximately 250 m. The height of the largest waterfall is 16.5 m, the lowest is 2 m.

The waterfalls have eloquent names: Devil's Mouth , Grotto , Lace .

The hiking route is about five kilometers. At the foot of the mountain, where the hiking trail begins, there is an ecological post, as well as several retail outlets and a kebab shop.

Tourist groups are also formed here , the number of which reaches 150–200 people . The hiking trail is very convenient, with fences, stairs, reliable bridges over the stream, and is quite suitable even for the most unprepared tourists.

The mountains here are mainly made of limestone and sandstone, so the water has carved some very strange curves in the soft rocks.

Central Beach

The largest in the village. Reviews with photos of the beach and the Arkhipo-Osipovka embankment vied with each other to talk not only about cleanliness and convenience, but also about everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Everything has been thought out here. There are sunshades, umbrellas and sun loungers for rent, showers, drinking fountains, changing cabins, toilets and wooden decks right down to the water, and even storage rooms for personal belongings. Moreover, there is no queue of more than five people at either the showers, locker rooms or water fountains, even during rush hour. Perhaps because there are quite a lot of them scattered across the vast territory of the beach. The only drawback of the booths and toilets is that they only work until eight in the evening. On the Central Beach of Arkhipo-Osipovka (reviews with photos can confirm this), as, in fact, on many others, guests from hot countries and owners of exotic animals offer to take a memorable photo. There were even crocodiles (they appear on the beach “of their own accord,” which terribly surprises vacationers).

Guests of the resort also write that they are pleasantly surprised by the paved paths that go quite deep into the beach area.

There are summer cafes on the beach offering refreshing drinks and light snacks.

The safety of vacationers is ensured by a team of rescuers and medical workers. Smoking on the beach is strictly prohibited (this will result in a significant fine). But there are still specially designated places for lovers.

Roman tower

On the right bank of the Vulan River, four kilometers from Arkhipo-Osipovka, there are the ruins of a real Roman tower built in the first century AD, during the time of Emperor Nero .
It is assumed that at that time the tower protected local settlements and the road to them, along which the caravans of the Great Silk Road walked, from attacks by robbers and pirates.

The tower was three stories high, built from sandstone slabs held together by clay and wood. Leaving the fortress, the garrison set it on fire, and today only ruins remain of the tower.

In summer, the main beaches of Arkhipo-Osipovka are crowded. Therefore, in my opinion, only those who love crowded beaches can relax in the center of the village. And, apparently, there are many of them.

I wholeheartedly advise you not to be lazy and at least once visit the more remote beaches of Arkhipo-Osipovka. This is the only way to appreciate the beauty of swimming.

You can also rent a catamaran and go out to the open sea. But that is another story.
