Lazarevskoye is the very first resort on the Black Sea where I ended up. It happened a long time ago in childhood, about 3 years ago. We went there several times and I looked forward to each trip with bated breath. Perhaps that is why I have warm feelings for this village. Otherwise, it is quite ordinary, crowded in season, with a railway near the beach. If you like to relax in quieter places, then it is better to rent housing in neighboring villages. Sights can be visited no matter where you live.

33 waterfalls

33 waterfalls are one of the most striking natural attractions of the region. The valley with waterfalls is a mountain gorge in the Dzhegosh tract, not far from the village of Bolshoi Kismay.

Waterfalls of the village of Nadzhigo

The waterfalls of the village of Nadzhigo are located 25 kilometers from the village of Lazarevskoye towards the north. They are located near the confluence of the Gumyshtepe and Kumyshtepe rivers. There are two large waterfalls in total. They are located a couple of kilometers from each other.

What amazes the most is the Zolotoy waterfall. Its height is at least 35 meters, and powerful flows are directed in different directions. A stream of water hitting a rock ledge breaks into two parts. The second waterfall is called Rocket. It consists of four stages and is only viewable from a long distance.

Aul Thagapsh

Aul Thagapsh is considered the only relatively large settlement in the middle reaches of the Makopse River. It is located on its right bank. From the northern part, the Psekhetsh ridge practically adjoins the village.

The Kapibge dolmens are ancient ritual structures located just 20 kilometers from the center of the village of Lazarevskoye. They date back to 3-2 millennia BC.

Tiger Cave

The Tiger Cave is located a few kilometers from the village of Thagapsh and at a similar distance from the village of Kalesh. The cave got its name not entirely in honor of the animals of the same name. The name refers to the multi-colored structural bands that form the thin layers of rock.

On the way to the tiger cave, tourists can enjoy the natural landscapes of the subtropics and breathe in the healing aromas of the forest. The total length of the cave corridors is at least 145 meters. But without an experienced instructor, it is not recommended to go further than 70 meters.

Witches Cave

The witches' cave is located on the right bank of the Ashe River near the village of Kalesh. It is also called the Cave of Salvation or the House of Spirits. The length of the cave has not yet been determined by experts due to its partial flooding.

Today, 74 meters of path inside the cave are available for tourists. But according to experts, its total length can be at least 12 kilometers. It is recommended to visit the cave as part of an excursion program. Many people prefer a boat excursion to a walking one, considering it more exciting.

The tulip tree in Golovinka belongs to the magnolia family. It received its name due to its external similarity with the flower of the same name. Presumably, the tulip tree in Golovinka was planted by General Raevsky 150 years ago. Holidaymakers enjoy taking pictures against its background. Many even come to him on excursions. The park has many attractions: a terrarium, an aquarium, a Ferris wheel, and a 9D cinema. There are summer cafes on the territory of the recreational zone. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built according to the design of Andrius Kubilius in 1999 in the traditional Old Russian style. The church actively interacts with the commission on juvenile affairs, helping minors who have broken the law.

Olympic Park

It is one of the tourist attractions left after the Winter Games in 2014

Svir Gorge

How to get there

By plane

The nearest airport is in Adler, the distance is about 80 km. The most convenient way to get from Adler is by train. The next most remote airport is in Krasnodar, the distance is more than 200 km.

By train

This is the most convenient way to travel around Greater Sochi.

Electric trains do not stand in traffic jams and depart strictly on schedule. Direct Lastochka trains run from anywhere in the Sochi region, Tuapse, Krasnodar and even Rostov.

"Swallows" are divided into two types - high-speed and ordinary.

Tickets for high-speed trains are purchased in advance, at least a few minutes before departure. But during the high season, tickets for high-speed trains with seats are quickly sold out, so you have to resort to regular flights without reserving a seat. Regular trains can be overcrowded, but you can buy a ticket directly on board. Most people are on the morning trains towards Sochi and on the evening trains in the direction from Sochi.

By bus or car

You can travel around Greater Sochi by car, but it is important to take into account two features. The first is spontaneous traffic jams. The villages are connected by one federal highway, which is very busy during the season.

The second feature is the mountainous terrain; not everyone can withstand traveling along steep serpentines.

Buying a bus ticket may be easier than buying a train ticket, but they are often booked several days in advance as well. Consider the bus as a backup option if you can’t take the train.
