In a wide valley between Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk, on the shores of the Black Sea, Kabardinka is located - a small village, but with great opportunities for off-season recreation. Every summer, resort life boils here under the hot southern sun - beach holidays, entertainment for children and adults, excursions, eco-tours and festivals. But you can get treatment and improve your health in Kabardinka at any time of the year - local health resorts operate year-round. The healing resources in this region are rich - from the healing air of the sea to mineral waters, the source of which is discovered near the village. The climate of Kabardinka is favorable both for treatment and for recreation. These places are considered the driest on the Caucasian Black Sea coast, and in terms of the number of sunny days and the absence of fog they compete with the southern coast of Crimea.

The settlement received the name Kabardinka in honor of the fort of the same name, built in 1836 for protection from the highlanders. The Kabardian regiment was stationed here.

We stayed in the home mini-hotel “Summer Cool” on Mira Street. Rooms range from ultra-economical (there are two beds in the room, a table, a hanger, a toilet and a shower in the yard, from 600 rubles) to the “luxury” level with a bathroom in the room, separate beds, a wardrobe, a TV, air conditioning, a table, chairs and a clothes dryer, from 2500 rubles).

Of course, this “luxury” can be called that specifically in the home mini-hotel sector. In the courtyard there are comfortable benches, lush green spaces, kitchens with stoves, tables, chairs and a full set of dishes (many women comfortably cooked borscht and baked pancakes for their families).

Transport

Kabardinka is a small resort village and all the popular places here are within walking distance. For a sightseeing tour it is more convenient to use a bicycle. You can rent this “healthy” type of transport everywhere. In addition to bicycles, scooters are very popular. It’s cheaper to rent “iron horses” for a period of three days or more - it will cost 500 RUB, while for an hour’s use you will have to pay 150-200 RUB. Vacationers with babies do not have to worry about strollers; they can also be rented - from 200 RUB per day.

From the Kabardinka bus station, commuter buses and minibuses run to nearby villages and cities - you can use them to travel around the surrounding area and go to remote beaches. A trip to Gelendzhik costs about 50 RUB, to Novorossiysk - about 100 RUB. Tourists can always use a taxi service both within the village itself and to travel to other places. The services of taxi companies will cost less than a trip with a private driver.

Rent a Car

Avid motorists who are not used to parting with the steering wheel even on vacation can indulge in this pleasure - as an option, rent a car. A car expands the possibilities of travelers - it allows you to visit places where group excursions do not take you, and stop in any place you like. Of course, during the peak season there is a problem of parking and traffic jams, but still not as acute as in Moscow. Most hotels and mini-hotels provide their guests with secure parking. To avoid hours-long traffic jams, it is advisable to plan your trip on a weekday - the route is especially congested on weekends, starting from 12 o'clock.

Tourists coming to Kabardinka will have to rent a car in Gelendzhik. You can get a car immediately upon arrival at the airport. The office of the international rental company Hertz is located directly in front of the arrival terminal. The all-Russian car rental network CarBooking and local rental companies also operate in Gelendzhik. For renting a car they ask from 1200-1500 RUB per day. We rent insured cars equipped with a DVR and radar detector, with child seats and GPS navigators upon request. A large selection of cars in good technical condition - from economy to business class. When renting a car for more than 5 days, a discount is provided.

Why Kabardinka

I have known Kabardinka for a long time: I vacationed there with my mother from 13 to 19 years old. Then I went with my husband to other places, but I definitely wanted to show my daughter the resort, which, it seems, “grew” with me.

Coming to Kabardinka from 2000 to 2006, I noticed how the beach was expanding, how the embankment was lengthening, how home mini-hotels were growing, how the entertainment infrastructure was developing. Every year the village surprised and delighted with new things.

In 2021, I did not recognize my beloved Kabardian. It has developed to the level of a classy resort. Every day we discovered something new in a familiar place.

Kabardinka Hotels

There is always somewhere to stay in Kabardinka. As elsewhere, housing prices are determined by the level of comfort, proximity to the sea and the tourist season. The highest prices occur in July and August. Accommodation in Zhemchuzhny, a microdistrict located near the sea and surrounded by gardens, is in great demand. On average, a standard room for two in a private mini-hotel will cost 1000-1500 RUB. Accommodation in a higher-class hotel, which has a swimming pool, restaurant, sports and children's playgrounds on its territory, will cost more. The cheapest housing can be rented in the private sector - a room for two is offered for 500-700 RUB per day. The most expensive rooms in the five-star resort complex “Nadezhda. SPA & Sea Paradise. The price for a presidential suite here reaches 60,000 RUB.

Overview of all beaches in Kabardinka

The holiday season in Kabardinka begins in May, with the arrival of the first tourists. As a rule, at this time of year the sea is still cool for swimming, but you can already meet vacationers on the beaches. And for good reason, because the coastline is surrounded by incredibly beautiful nature. In May, people come here who simply want to walk along the shore, throw pebbles into the sea and admire the incredible sunsets to the sound of the waves.

But with the onset of summer, Kabardinka becomes noticeably livelier. The coasts are filled with tourists, and boarding houses begin to open their doors to numerous travelers. The village is filled with the noise of boats, the usual bustle of vacationers, music coming from everywhere and the aroma of street food. Like many resorts, Kabardinka has many beaches, and we will tell you about the most popular of them in this article.

Wild beaches of Cape Penay

Those who like a secluded holiday will love the idea of a trip to one of the wild beaches on the territory of Cape Penai. Its coasts are covered with small pebbles and surrounded by rocks. They are not close to the shore. It is in the areas between the rocks and the sea that the local beaches are comfortably located. Why are they attractive to tourists?

The first and main advantage of this coast is that it is uncrowded and quiet. The lack of infrastructure and the usual benefits of a resort vacation does not attract crowds of tourists here. This means that people don’t come to the Cape for cocktails in glasses and other similar benefits of a vacation on the beach. Connoisseurs of a different type of holiday come here: their own tent - instead of a room in a boarding house, a pink sunset over the sea horizon - instead of beach animation, shadows from rocks - instead of wide canopies. Coming here, you are guaranteed to escape the noise of the popular beaches, immersing yourself in zen and peace.

Wild beach of Cape Penai

You should be careful when swimming here - the shores of the beaches of Cape Penai are strewn with pebbles extending into the sea. Sometimes there are large stones at the bottom, so you should enter the water very carefully. It is also worth paying attention to the fact that there is no parking on the coast. Usually tourists leave their cars near the highway and get to the beach along a path already trodden by other travelers.

Don’t worry: the lack of comfortable sun loungers and rental of all the necessary amenities will not affect your vacation in any way if on vacation you are looking for unity with nature and peace away from noisy resorts. The wild beaches of Cape Penai will be an excellent option for such a tourist.

What to do on the wild beaches of Cape Penai:

  • Situated on the pebbly shore, enjoy unity with nature, admiring the endless horizon.
  • Swim in the “wild” waters of the Black Sea.
  • After wandering along the pebble beach, collect a collection of pebbles as a souvenir of your trip to Kabardinka.
  • Stop here late in the evening. Lay out a blanket on the shore and have an evening picnic overlooking the sunset.

Beach on the border with Novorossiysk

Fans of “wild” beaches will enjoy the unoccupied coastline on the border with Novorossiysk. Here, surrounded by rocks, hides a corner of nature in all its diversity. Not only tourists come here, but also local residents in search of silence. It is never crowded here, and this is the main advantage of this beach.

You will find a wild beach near the monument to the Sailors of the Revolution. There is a well-trodden path leading to the coast, so you are unlikely to get lost. The shore itself is covered with pebbles, and in some places strewn with quite large stones. That is why tourists are advised to be extremely careful when entering the water. The sea on the wild beach is incredibly clean. The water is so clear that you can see even the smallest inhabitants of the underwater fauna. And in order to fully admire the beauties of land, we recommend that you go up to the observation deck built on the coast, which offers an unforgettable view of the sea, rocks and surroundings. And the village of Kabardinka itself looks different from here.

In general, the advantages of this beach include the lack of crowds, incredibly beautiful wildlife, the purity of the sea and the special tranquility that is felt here more and more with every breath of the breeze.

What to do on the beach on the border with Novorossiysk:

  • Swim in crystal clear sea water.
  • Enjoy privacy and the absence of crowds of tourists on a beach away from the noisy center.

Beaches of Kabardinka

All Kabardinka beaches are free. You can swim along the entire coast - from Cape Doob to Novorossiysk itself. These are mainly small-pebble beaches with a smooth coastline and good entry into the water. In the village, the bathing areas are landscaped and equipped with everything necessary - toilets, changing rooms, showers, cafes and equipment rental. The central beach can be crowded during high season. Here you can rent a jet ski or catamaran, fly a parachute or ride a banana boat, or you can take a boat trip or take part in fishing - boats and yachts depart from the pier along special routes.

Lovers of secluded relaxation will certainly enjoy the wild beach on the border with Novorossiysk. It is located near the monument to the Sailors of the Revolution, surrounded by picturesque rocks. The entrance to the sea is rocky, but the water is clean. One of the most popular places for a beach holiday is the beach of the Victoria boarding house at the entrance to Tsemes Bay from Gelendzhik. The spacious, well-kept beach area attracts tourists not only from Kabardinka, but from nearby cities. There is a dive center on the beach.

What is Kabardinka

Kabardinka is a resort village in the Krasnodar Territory, located between Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk. Kabardinka is very warm, there is a lot of greenery, and the sea is clean and calm.

The place, popular among tourists, is considered the sunniest of the Black Sea resorts in the Krasnodar Territory: according to statistics, there are many more clear days here than in Sochi, Anapa, Novorossiysk or even nearby Gelendzhik. The reason for this is the unique location.

Although Kabardinka, like Novorossiysk, is located on the shore of Tsemes Bay, the village is covered on three sides by mountain ranges from the notorious icy Novorossiysk Nord-Osts, and indeed from all cold winds.

In summer the average temperature here is +28, and the average annual temperature is +14 degrees.

At the same time, Kabardinka is surrounded by forests, mainly pine-juniper. In the village itself there are many alleys and gardens where southern fruit trees and mimosas grow. The microclimate is only slightly more humid than in Gelendzhik, but much drier than in Sochi, so the heat is much easier to bear, which is important for people with diseases of the cardiovascular system.

The aroma of juniper and Pitsunda pines, light warm breezes blowing from the sea and carrying microparticles of salt and iodine, make Kabardinka simply a paradise for pulmonary patients and asthmatics!

Treatment in Kabardinka

The medical specialization of Kabardian health resorts is diseases of the respiratory system, circulatory system, nervous and musculoskeletal systems. For the treatment and rehabilitation of patients, all types of balneological and physiotherapeutic procedures are used - water and mud therapy, massage, hirudotherapy, speleotherapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, magnetic therapy, electrophoresis. Here the climate itself heals, which in its characteristics belongs to the zone of dry subtropics of the Mediterranean type, and the local healing air is saturated not only with sea salts, but also with phytoncides of juniper groves. In this area there are water sources of varying degrees of mineralization - the most famous of them are “Gelendzhik” and “Belotsvetnaya”. For mud therapy, sanatoriums use hydrogen sulfide silt mud from the Taman Peninsula.

Diving in Kabardinka

The Black Sea between Gelendzhik and Kabardinka hides not only bizarre underwater rocks and rich wildlife. There are dive sites for divers of different certification levels - natural sites for beginners and deep-sea “hardware” for advanced divers. In the coastal waters of Kabardinka lies one of the most popular dive sites of the Black Sea - the sunken cruise ship "Admiral Nakhimov". The distance to its upper deck is only 26 m - this allows even diving beginners to examine the remains of the ship. Kabardian diving clubs also organize dives to the reefs of Tonky Cape, the Chests bank and the destroyer Shaumyan. Those who want to join this active form of recreation can take a full course of training - from beginner to professional. The most favorable time for diving is from the beginning of June to the end of September. Scuba diving equipment can be rented; the cost of one dive with an instructor is from 1500-2000 RUB.

What to bring

The signature Kabardian souvenirs are crafts made from juniper - boards, stands, boxes, toys. Ceramic dishes and clay figurines are also popular. As a souvenir of your visit to these places, you can bring books about the flora and fauna of the Black Sea, the sights and customs of the North Caucasus. From excursion trips to religious buildings of antiquity, dolmens, they bring their miniature sculptural images. You can buy original gifts by visiting the Art Glass Gallery, which tells about domestic glassblowers and their extraordinary works. The souvenir shop offers items with a wide range of prices - from glass “candies” with an unlimited shelf life to rock crystal items and glass paintings.

What to try

You can feel like a real mountaineer if you start the day with khash. This is a Caucasian soup made from beef and tripe. It is served with herbs and garlic, and eaten as a bite with spicy radish. According to the rules, khash is supposed to be eaten for breakfast. They say that this is an excellent remedy for the consequences of yesterday's feasts. Mini souvlaki kebabs are a typical Greek food. The only deviation from tradition is that Kabardian cooks wrap them in lavash instead of pita bread. “Tzhvzhik” is not a set of letters, it is the name of an Armenian liver dish that is definitely worth trying with local wine. If you want something exotic at the resort, experts recommend ordering dishes made from Black Sea shark.

Cafes and restaurants in Kabardinka

There are many places in Kabardinka where you can have a tasty lunch and snack on the go. The resort village has both affordable canteens and high-class restaurants. Like, for example, the Kastalskaya Kupel restaurant complex. This is a cultural and health center in the lap of nature - a large beautiful area, gazebos, a pond, bridges and aviaries with exotic birds. Visitors can go fishing and catch their own dinner - the chefs will cook freshly caught trout on the grill and immediately serve it to the table.

Most tourists prefer self-service eating places. These canteens offer simple Russian cuisine at affordable prices. Another option is set lunches, which are organized by local cafes from 12:00 to 16:00. Haute cuisine dishes are unlikely to be offered here, but the price will be low. Many private hotels provide their guests with three meals a day. It is better not to pay for the entire period, but to try one day first and find out if you like the food.

There are many establishments in Kabardinka where you can taste national cuisine - Kuban, Greek, or Armenian. In addition to cafes and restaurants, there are retail outlets with resort fast food - shawarma, pasties, ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn. Most of the pavilions are located on the embankment and pedestrian alley - some of them are open 24 hours a day.

Food: cafes, shops, market

It is simply impossible to remain hungry in Kabardinka. Products for every taste and budget can be bought everywhere. We went to the Magnit store, where there were long lines, and to a tiny nameless store on Novaya Street not far from the house where we lived. In stores they bought bread, drinking water, and semi-finished breakfast products: porridge, sausages and instant noodles. We bought baby purees in soft packaging for our daughter.

The village has an excellent market with a wide selection of vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, spices, dried fruits, honey, and teas. There we bought various souvenirs in the form of nuts and pine cones in honey, teas with fragrant herbs, sweets such as Turkish delight, churchkhela (who doesn’t know - these are nuts strung on a hard thread in congealed boiled grape juice, an incredibly tasty thing).

In addition, in the alleys and small streets far from the beach near the gates, the owners display their own products and fruits and vegetables from their own gardens and gardens. There you can buy homemade wine and other alcoholic drinks, different types of honey, handicrafts: crafts and souvenirs made from shells and stones, beads, children's toys, pictures and the like.

Cafes and canteens are located almost throughout the village. On the coast overlooking the sea you can have a beautiful dinner while listening to “live music”, the average bill is 1000 rubles per person . We ate dinner mostly at home, buying shish kebab by weight, lula kebab or other take-out food.

You can have a three-course lunch (first course, meat or fish with a side dish, salad and a drink) in numerous canteens . Price from 400 to 700 per person . A child can be asked to have half a portion for half the price.

We had breakfast at home with semi-finished products or tea with cookies.

Entertainment and attractions of Kabardinka

It is known that back in the Bronze Age, tribes of dolmen builders lived in this territory. These stone burial grounds have survived to this day, representing enormous historical and cultural value. Then, in the 16th century, the surrounding area was inhabited by tribes of Circassians and Circassians. Evidence of this is the legends that have survived to this day, as well as the burial mound, located today on the territory of the boarding house “Pearl of the Sea” in the southeast of the village.

The main attraction of Kabardinka is considered to be the unique Old Park, where on 0.5 hectares architectural structures of various eras are presented: Ancient Egypt, classical antiquity, the Middle Ages, Art Nouveau and Baroque. They are complemented by fountains, rotundas, corners of landscape architecture and sculptures that characterize the appearance of a particular era.

Climbing to the peaks of Mount Doob, which are called “Faith, Hope, Love,” travelers can see a panorama of the hero city of Novorossiysk. Relict pine trees grow on the mountain slopes.

And near the Markkhottsky ridge in the juniper reserve there is the Kastalskaya font. Associated with her is the legend of Nereid, the daughter of the Xanthus king Nereus, and her lover, the Argonaut Dmitry. In the center of the lake, surrounded by walking paths, stands a medieval-style house. The lake is home to crucian carp, trout, carp, and carp, which can be fished for an additional fee.

Kabardinka for children

In the recent past, many pioneer camps operated in Kabardinka - Soviet schoolchildren spent their summer holidays there. Today's Kabardinka is not only a children's resort, but still remains a wonderful place to relax with children. In addition to sea and sunbathing, little tourists can get a lot of impressions from the entertainment that Kabardinka offers them. At every corner in the village there is a rental of children's bicycles, scooters, roller skates and children's cars. The Art Glass Gallery invites young tourists to the “Fairytale Castle” installation, master classes and excursions. In the Kabardian Oceanarium, little visitors will find seahorses, sharks, stingrays and other inhabitants of the deep sea, as well as its largest exhibit - the Baltic seal. An excursion to the exotarium will expand children's knowledge about the world of reptiles - it contains lizards, turtles, snakes and even crocodiles. In neighboring Gelendzhik there are three water parks, a Safari Park, the Olympus entertainment complex and a dolphinarium - and it’s just 20 minutes away by car.

Story

Undoubtedly, if there were a written chronicle of the land on which today's Kabardinka stands, it would be very interesting. The guarantee of this is the great number of fragments of ancient Greek amphorae found during archaeological excavations of ancient mounds , dating back to the 5th – 7th centuries BC, as well as coins of all times and peoples.
But there is no written evidence left about the settlements that constantly arose in these places and were destroyed by successive conquerors. In 1836, on the shore of Tsemes Bay, which went to Russia after the Russian-Turkish War, the Alexandrovskoye fortification was built, named in honor of the empress. However, due to the fact that it was constantly confused with Fort Alexandria - modern Sochi, the fortification was renamed Kabardinskoe, named after the Kabardian regiment, whose soldiers made up the garrison of the fortress. Kabarda was the first of the Caucasian provinces to recognize Russian authority over itself.

During the Caucasian War, Kabardinka more than once happened to repel enemy raids. During the Crimean War, the fortress was completely razed to the ground, and its garrison retreated to Kerch. The settlement was revived only after the end of the Caucasian War (in 1864), but as a peaceful village, re-founded by Greek settlers.

In the twentieth century, the wonderful climate of Kabardinka and its proximity to large resort towns turned the village into a fairly famous resort . However, the military history of Kabardinka did not end: during the Great Patriotic War, logistics services were located in Kabardinka, forming detachments to protect Malaya Zemlya.
