It is a regional-level city and the administrative center of the Bratsk district. It occupies an area of 428 km2 (42.8 thousand hectares).

The appearance of the city.
Historically, the city of Bratsk was formed from separate villages. Currently, it consists of several urban districts, tens of kilometers apart from each other. In fact, Bratsk is a small polycentric urban agglomeration - a compact cluster of urban settlements and microdistricts, united by a single transport infrastructure, industrial, administrative, cultural and social connections, and a common idea of development.
Currently, Bratsk is divided into three administrative-territorial districts, uniting nearby villages and residential areas - Central, Padunsky and Pravoberezhny.
Residential areas of Bratsk are built up mainly with panel and brick multi-storey comfortable houses. The city has a developed network of socially significant facilities - schools, children's institutions, shops, etc., there are many wide avenues and streets, cozy courtyards. Residential areas are connected to each other by good asphalt roads. Between the urban districts there are areas of preserved taiga. Industrial zones are located separately from residential buildings.
The Bratsk Sea gives the city a special flavor, along the shores of which almost all of its residential areas are located.
Coat of arms.
On the old coat of arms of Bratsk, adopted in 1980, in a red field there are the letters “AL” and fragments of the cellulose formula (symbols of the city-forming industries of Bratsk). In a green field is the tower of the Bratsk prison. In the center is a water column (symbol of the Angara), on which there is a circle with golden rays and an image of a turbine (symbol of a hydroelectric power station). The updated coat of arms of Bratsk (right) excludes details, but retains the general idea and color scheme of the old coat of arms
Prospects
cities are associated with the implementation of two fundamental directions - the preservation and modernization of existing industries and the creation of new ones.
As part of the first direction, it is necessary to modernize city-forming enterprises. In particular, BrAZ is already planning the construction of a foundry complex, a container terminal, a dry gas purification system, the introduction of “dry” anode technology, etc. All this will increase production efficiency, reduce harmful emissions and increase aluminum yield by 10-15% (up to 1 million tons in year).
It is planned to re-equip timber industry enterprises, aimed primarily at increasing the depth of wood processing. In this regard, it is advisable to increase the pulping capacity to 1 million tons per year (as planned in Soviet times).
The modernization of power units at the Bratsk Hydroelectric Power Station is already underway, and it is planned to re-equip and increase the capacity of the Bratsk Ferroalloy Plant and food industry enterprises in the city.
As part of the implementation of the second direction, the development of the Bratsk gas condensate field has begun. The possibility of constructing an electrometallurgical plant to produce 600 thousand tons of metal structures per year is being considered. There are a number of other production projects.
In addition to production, it is advisable to develop other areas of the city’s economy. For example, a project for the formation of ecological tourism “Siberian Safari” is proposed, which provides not only for the development of tourism and the popularization of the northern territories, but also for the creation of nurseries and open-air cages. In addition, in order to diversify the leisure time of the brothers, it is planned to build a water park, etc.
Is it known about the program and launch time of the fireworks?

According to established tradition, specialists complete the installation work by City Day. Spruce will help the townspeople and guests of Bratsk plunge into the festive atmosphere
The city of Bratsk, attractions – photos with descriptions
Beautiful places in Bratsk are found in different areas. While walking around the city, you can visit the theatre, shopping malls, and cozy restaurants and cafes. Each part of the settlement has its own unique features. Must see:
- Memorial of Glory. This majestic structure amazes with its scale. Residents of the city are proud of the monument as one of the main attractions. The concrete monument consists of three flames that harmoniously intertwine with each other. The height is twenty-eight meters. The monument was erected in honor of the thirtieth anniversary of the victory in the Second World War. The opening took place in 1975. The entire structure consists of concrete blocks, completely empty inside. A group of professionals worked on the memorial; nearby they installed a wall with the names of city residents who gave their lives for their native country in the war. In total, more than two and a half thousand names are listed here.
- Grazing elk. The paleontological monument is one of the main exhibits of the popular exhibition of paleontological monuments. This is the oldest stone structure, which is about eight thousand years old. Okladnikov, a famous archaeologist, discovered a moose on high rocks. The piece with the design was detached and given to the surrounding area.
- Bratsk hydroelectric power station. The river in Bratsk made it possible to build the largest hydroelectric power station in Russia. It became not just a symbol of the city, but also the basis of its formation. The hydroelectric power station divides the settlement into two regions; it is the largest structure, which is the main facility in the city. The length of the dam reaches five kilometers. In the sixties, the station was recognized as the largest in the world. The hydroelectric power station contributed to the formation of the largest Bratsk reservoir, which was chosen by local residents. This is a great place for fishing and beach holidays.
- Brotherly prison. The architectural monument is located on the coast of the Angara River, in the east. For the first time in history it was mentioned in 1638.
