Turinsk, a small Ural town in the east of the region, is now celebrating 420 years since its founding. The other day we went there to find out how preparations for the anniversary events were going. And at the same time, talk to the new head of the local administration, Alexander Puzyrev, who took office less than a year ago.
Outdoor and indoor hot pools at the resort
The wellness center offers swimming in 3 swimming pools, one of them outdoors.
The largest outdoor thermal pool, the water temperature in it is about 38 degrees Celsius, which makes it possible to use it all year round. The water has a strong iodine odor and is yellowish in color. For treatment purposes, it can be taken orally.
Another hot pond is located indoors. In terms of size, it is, of course, inferior to an outdoor pool, but it is also quite large. The temperature is maintained within 35-38 degrees Celsius.
The complex also has an indoor swimming pool filled with fresh water. Here the water is cooler, about 28 degrees Celsius.
ATTENTION! Swimming in any of the Aquarelle pools is not recommended for patients with epilepsy or diabetes. If you have fungal skin diseases or sexually transmitted diseases, visiting the thermal complex is prohibited.
Hot spring "Aquarelle" in Turinsk - prices 2020 and opening hours
The cost of visiting the thermal pools depends on the day of the week and time of visit. The Aquarelle complex is open daily from 6 a.m. to midnight.
From Monday to Friday the following price is set:
- from 06:00 to 12:00 - 300 rub. 3 hours in advance (without access to saunas);
- from 12:00 to 24:00 - 500 rub. (saunas and unlimited access to swimming pools included).
On weekends and holidays you can arrive from 06:00 to 24:00, tickets cost 500 rubles. for 3 hours and 700 rub. with unlimited limit.
If you purchase a ticket for 3 hours and exceed the time, an additional stay in the complex is paid according to the price list: 30 minutes - 100 rubles.
Children under 6 years old travel with their parents free of charge. Free access is also available for disabled people of group I and 1 accompanying person

Need doctors and school
We walked around the central square of Turinsk and talked with the residents. This is what the townspeople told the Regional Newspaper.
– I love Turinsk very much - this is my small Motherland. The town is calm, quiet, among forests. My children, grandchildren - everyone lives here. We would like to resolve the issue with the new school by the city’s anniversary. There are a lot of children, studying in the second shift, meeting and seeing them off is an eternal problem,” shared pensioner Lidiya Sutormina.
– I love my city – there is clean air here, good people. I was born here, my family is here. In principle, we have everything for a normal life. There is only one problem - there is a very shortage of medical personnel. The city hospital and people are suffering – something needs to be done about it,” said young mother Marina Morozova.
The head of the administration, Alexander Puzyrev, admitted: both problems for Turinsk are very acute.
– There are four schools in the city, buildings built in the 1950s and 60s, all overcrowded - more than 800 children study in the second shift. Of particular concern is school No. 4, where one of the buildings has been in disrepair since 2012, the gym and canteen are located in another building, and children are forced to walk there along the street - there is no warm passage. A new school is urgently needed; Turin residents have been waiting for it for several years. Everything is ready for construction: there is a design that has passed state examination and a plot of land. But we were not included in the state school construction programs for 2021,” the head said.
How to get to the Aquarelle hot spring
The Aquarelle hot spring is located 12 km from Turinsk in the village of Vodoistochnik. From Yekaterinburg to the complex is about 300 km. You can get there by intercity buses (with transfers), by car or by the Turin Express transfer.
Book a taxi in Turinsk (there is a local Express service). Call a taxi through Yandex mobile services. Taxi, Maxim, Uber, etc. will not work.

What sets Akvarel apart from similar Tyumen recreation centers is the location of the complex. Both residents of nearby cities and towns and guests from very remote corners of Russia come here. But Turinsk has actually already turned 420 years old: it was founded on January 30 (February 12, new style) 1600 by decree of Tsar Boris Godunov on the site of the Epanchin-Yurt fortress by Ermak Turinsk became a real gateway to Siberia and for a long time was considered a “Siberian prison” - people disliked by the state were sent here. Over the years, rebels from the detachments of Stepan Razin and Emelyan Pugachev , Decembrists Vasily Ivashev, Nikolai Basargin, Ivan Pushchin, Stepan Semyonov . Turinsk has a special connection with the Decembrist era.

– Turinsk is the only city in the Middle Urals where monuments of that time have been preserved: residential buildings of the Decembrists, the grave memorial of the Ivashevs, a park founded by the Decembrists. There is a memorial museum of the Decembrists. The park opened last year after reconstruction and found a second life. This is the historical core of the city, which invariably attracts tourists,” explained Alexander Puzyrev.
In the anniversary year, Turin residents plan to continue the improvement of public areas and the restoration of memorial sites. The program of events to prepare the city for the 420th anniversary was agreed upon by the governor of the region, Evgeny Kuyvashev .
– On behalf of the governor, we were allocated 30 million rubles from the regional budget for the improvement of Lenin Street. This is part of a larger project to renovate the city center, which also includes the improvement of the city square. The memorial to those killed in the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars will be reconstructed; the cost of the work is 20 million rubles. The overhaul of the district House of Culture has already begun - funds have also been allocated on behalf of the governor, said Alexander Ivanovich.
City authorities intend to enter Turinsk into the All-Russian competition for the improvement of small towns and historical settlements in order to receive co-financing for larger improvement projects. The development of urban infrastructure is also underway: this year the reconstruction of treatment facilities will begin in Turinsk, two new boiler houses will be put into operation, and construction of the road along Zagorodnaya Street will begin.
