Nizhnekamsk is located on the left bank of the Kama River at the place where the Zay River flows into it. This is one of the 3 large cities of Tatarstan and a significant oil-industrial center of the country. A little over 50 years ago it was built as a workers’ town at a large petrochemical plant. The population of Nizhnekamsk is more than 230 thousand people. During the construction of the main city-forming enterprise, many workers of different nationalities came here and remained to live and work in the city under construction. 17. JSC "TANECO " (TAtarstan Oil Refinery Complex). The largest oil refining complex in the Russian Federation (former name - Nizhnekamsk Oil Refinery CJSC). Currently, the annual volume of oil produced by the Taneco refinery is about 8 million, although at the very beginning of the plant’s launch in 2011, the task was to process 7 million tons. Now, according to the plans of regional authorities, Tatneft will gradually increase productivity to 14 million tons of oil per year.
18. The complex’s products include 20 types of advanced oil refining products, from motor fuels of European quality to raw material components for the production of a wide range of popular petrochemical products.
19. Now TANECO has achieved production indicators that exceed industry-wide values. The depth of processing of raw materials was 74.5%, in the country it was 71%, the yield of light petroleum products was at the level of 50%. It is planned that in 2015 the depth of oil refining will be increased to 97%. This indicator significantly exceeds the processing depth on average in Russia and will help improve the performance of the entire industry.
20. “Nizhnekamskshina” (Nizhnekamsk tire plant). The largest enterprise in the tire industry, producing car tires of the KAMA and KAMA EURO brands. The plant's assortment includes more than 120 standard sizes and models of tires, including those developed by specialists from the Scientific and Technical Institute.
21. The production capacity of the plant is 13 million tires per year.
22. In March 2013, the Tatneft tire complex delivered the millionth KAMA EURO tire to the assembly line of the Volkswagen Group plant in Kaluga.
23. Nizhnekamsk CHPP-1 . The main consumer of thermal and electrical energy is OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim, so the composition of the equipment at the station was selected based on the loads of OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
24. The equipment of the thermal power plant includes 9 power and 2 hot water boilers, as well as 5 turbine units. The installed electrical capacity of the station is 380 MW, thermal capacity is 1580 Gcal/hour.
