Lyubertsy is the most densely populated city in the Moscow region, located southeast of the capital. The first mention of the settlement of Lyubertsy-Nazarovo dates back to 1621. From the moment the railway connection appeared here, the village of Lyubertsy began to develop rapidly: the population grew, residential buildings and industrial facilities were built. In the 19th century, this area was a popular summer cottage area. A century later, the New York steam plant, and later the New York agricultural machinery plant, was built here, owned by a foreigner, Thomas Purdais. In the 30s of the 20th century, the village of Lyubertsy became a city, the territory of which gradually expanded due to the inclusion of small villages and villages located in the immediate vicinity.
Today Lyubertsy is a large industrial center, with more than 25 enterprises of various types operating here. Particularly famous are the Kamov Helicopter Plant, Selkhozmash LLC, and NPK Sovershennaya Mekhanika.
The most famous sights of the city of Lyubertsy are the Vvedenskaya Church - a 17th-century building, the ruins of the Zeninsky aqueduct - a historical site of the 20th century, the Bogorodskoye-Kraskovo and Zenino estates.

Monument to Hero Helicopter Pilots
To win wars, different combat vehicles are used. One of them is a helicopter. The Mi-24, which participated along with its brothers in the Afghan, Chechen and other wars, found its rest on a high stele in the city of Lyubertsy. A monument was erected on the street of Warriors-Internationalists.
It was not without reason that this city was chosen to install such a rare monument for our country. After all, this is where military helicopters are assembled and tested. But this monument, in addition to paying tribute to the combat vehicle, also reminds us of the helicopter pilots who died during the war.

Church of the Life-Giving Trinity
In the former village of Natashino, which is now part of the city, there is an interesting architectural monument. Sights of Lyubertsy include not only ancient buildings, but also temples. The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity is notable for the fact that it was built with donations from dacha owners.
Natashino was a holiday village at the beginning of the 20th century. The owners of the plots were not able to frequently visit the temple due to their inconvenient location. Therefore, having first contacted the Moscow Spiritual Consistory, and then, having created a church commission, they began to collect donations for the construction of the church.
When the money was collected, a beautiful wooden church was built (along with a house for the clergy), which survived the difficult years of unbelief and devastation.
Currently, the temple operates in the same way as the parochial school located next to it. Church of the Life-Giving Trinity is located at: st. Uritskogo, 1.

Modern attractions of Lyubertsy
Fans of the Lyube group undoubtedly closely follow the work of their favorite group, and it is no secret to them that in this city in 2015 a monument was opened in honor of the legendary group on Smirnovskaya Street. Interestingly, the sculptural composition consists of two characters. The first depicts the lead singer of the group, Nikolai Rastorguev, with a guitar in his hand, and the second depicts the figure of a woman with dumbbells in her hand, sitting on a bench.
It’s not difficult to guess that this is the heroine of the famous song “Dusya the Unit”. The monument was erected in this city for a reason. The group's very first performance took place at the local House of Culture. Nikolai Rastorguev was born in Lyubertsy and subsequently received the title of honorary resident of this city.
Here, at School No. 10, Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin, the world’s first cosmonaut, received his first specialty as a molder-foundry worker. Therefore, a monument was erected near him in 1984. It consists of a ball and a ribbon connected in a circle, symbolizing a flight around the Earth, decorated with a star. On this circle stands Gagarin in an astronaut suit. One hand is raised up, symbolizing man’s desire to go into space, and the other is lowered down, reminiscent of the return to his native Earth. This monument was repeated in London by the architect A. Novikov. The address of the monument is Oktyabrsky Prospekt, 136.
The sights of Lyubertsy are not limited to this. It has old manor houses, a memorial and a local history museum, and much more. Come to this cozy city, located near Moscow, to experience its charm for yourself.
