Thin Cape is a resort area of Gelendzhik, located on the coast in the northern part of the bay. Most of the beaches in this area are quite wild and not very well-maintained, but have convenient access to sea water. Holidays on Thin Cape are, as a rule, chosen by lovers of a relaxing holiday who want to escape the bustle of the resort center.
Despite the overwhelming majority of “wild” beaches, on Tonky Cape there are also several new comfortable beach areas that attract tourists with their developed infrastructure. For example, the pebble beach “Breeze”, popular and well-equipped.
Embankment of the Tonky Mys microdistrict
As such, the promenade of the residential sector named in the title (with a balustrade, lanterns and a tiled sidewalk) is found only at the Blue Wave and Zolotaya Bukhta sanatoriums. It was laid (on a smaller scale) and to the west – to the “Scarlet Sails”.
The designated nickel is considered the most prestigious on the mini-peninsula, to which the article is dedicated. Most of the luxury hotels, famous eateries and restaurants are concentrated here. There are nightclubs, rentals of bicycles and children's electric vehicles, shopping malls and souvenir shops, two sanatoriums and a large water park "Golden Bay" have been built. The Thin Cape embankment is one and a half kilometers long. At its north-eastern end there is a modern elongated pontoon.
Bright subtropical trees and flowers are planted along the seaside street, and there are trash cans. More often the location is associated with the only non-pebble beach in Gelendzhik - “Sandy Bottom”. Despite the “stone sand”, the water manages to remain very transparent. The only negative is that it is not suitable for children. Deep enough. And in some areas this very “rocky sand” simply does not exist - the sea caresses the sidewalk.
Are you intrigued by the features of this resort area? Get off at the Winzavod stop and move along Vinogradnaya and Parkovaya streets until you stop. Just along that part of the embankment where the street leads out. Parkovaya, there are “soft” pontoons.
Beach location
Breeze Beach is located on Tonky Cape, 6 kilometers from the resort center of Gelendzhik. This area is popular among surfers and other extreme thrill-seekers and water sports enthusiasts. That is why there is a diving center nearby. Also not far from the beach is the famous Golden Bay water park, which is definitely worth a visit when going to the resort with a child. In addition, in this microdistrict there are several sanatoriums and tourist centers, where discos and entertainment events are held weekly. By the way, in the Tonkiy Mys microdistrict there is a camping area where you can camp with tents and join in the active recreation.

Torik Beach
According to the development plan, this is the first (from the Blue Bay) adequately equipped piece of the peninsular coast. It is an infrastructural continuation of the elongated residential complex “Torik” (its new high-rise buildings are the brand of the named cape).

True, the improvement was never completed, creating the feeling of some kind of long-term construction. We are talking about a sea edge about two kilometers long. It is quite narrow - 7-10 m, abutting the unfinished embankment. The surface is large pebbles and cobblestones, from which the locals “sculpted” homemade breakwaters.
By the way, the water here is clear. The entrance to it is at an average slope. The last “business card” of the harbor is the convenient access to the street. Airborne. This urban artery is home to several guest apartments and hotel houses.
Natural features of the beach
The surface of the beach consists of large pebbles, so when moving along it, be careful, and it is better to use special shoes - aqua shoes or “coral slippers”. Also try to supervise children so that they do not injure their feet when running on pebbly surfaces.
According to tourists, the water on the coast is crystal clear. Since the current is fast enough, the water does not stagnate and is always clean and “renewed”. There are slopes to the water, the entrance to which is smooth and gentle. The area is absolutely safe for families with children; you can safely let them swim near the shore - in order to get to the real depth, you need to swim far enough.
September is considered the velvet season in Gelendzhik and on the Breeze beach. It is in this month that climatic conditions become optimal for recreation - the air temperature drops to 23 degrees, and the water cools to about 21 degrees. This ideal temperature regime is maintained due to the presence of mountains. By the way, after visiting the “Breeze” beach, don’t miss the chance to admire the beautiful sea and mountain views.

Breeze Beach
Yes, Gelendzhik is rich in the Riviera. The beaches of Thin Cape are also double. These are the swimming locations “Breeze-1” and “Breeze-2”. They are separated from “Torik” by a wild lagoon 200 m long. “Breeze” itself is one kilometer of coastline, “broken” by bays formed after the construction of various breakwaters.
The beach surface is considered to be a large pebble strip with a width of 30 to 50 m. The water continues to remain clean, there is also little garbage, because guests rarely appear here. The entrance to the sea is at an average, and in some places even a large angle. There are pointed stones. The infrastructure of the relatively new beach is:
- paved exits to the residential sector of the same name;
- Hotel "Ekaterina";
- restaurant "Fisherman's Hut";
- several tent awnings;
- rental of sun loungers and sun umbrellas;
- a short section of embankment embankment with staircases;
- bank protection perimeter (ladders are thrown across it);
- seasonal cafe;
- a pair of concrete pontoons.
What other beaches are worth visiting in Gelendzhik?

- central;

- Sports;
- Sandy bottom;
- Edelweiss;
- Sun;
- Solar;
- Dolphin;
- Sanatorium Lomonosov.

Between "Breeze" and the "Thin Cape" complex
We are talking about the only fragment of the local seaside that can be called wild, not counting the savage, or nudist, beach towards the Blue Bay. It starts behind the last house of the Breeze residential complex, and ends with the fence of the said residential complex. This refers to the easternmost protrusion of the cape - a line that bends several times with a distance of only 250 m and a width of 7-12 m.
Here is Desantnaya Street. goes to the Embankment (stop “Thin Cape”, Hotel “Bombay”, various long-term construction projects). On the one hand, the grass and broken stones falling straight into the water do little to contribute to the popularity of the patch, but on the other hand, there are strategic streets Desantnaya, Naberezhnaya, and entrances to several popular sanatoriums.
Consequently, this place doesn’t like to be empty, especially since the water here is the perfect color, and nearby there is a huge cluster of supermarkets and guest houses. And even more of them are being built here! All this disgrace, often used by visiting and local aborigines, lasts until the buildings of the “Thin Cape”.
Wild
They will be an excellent solution for all lovers of a relaxing holiday away from city noise and dust. There is, of course, no infrastructure, but the pristine beauty and picturesque views invariably attract vacationers.
"Blue Bay"
This resort microdistrict is located 13 km from the center. Most access to the water have a gently sloping shore and are covered with small pebbles, which makes them convenient for vacationers with children. But there are also those where the depth increases very sharply. It is believed that the air and water in Blue Bay are especially clean. That's why people come here who want to improve their health. You can sunbathe and plunge into the gentle sea, as in all wild territories, absolutely free.
Wild beaches between Thin Cape and Blue Bay
This area can safely be called remote. It is 500-600 meters away from the nearest roads and parking lots. The nearby airstrip, unfortunately, does not add to the attractiveness. Tourists and locals don't often get here to swim and sunbathe. An additional inconvenience is the abundance of large stones, which are impossible to walk on without shoes. But those who still decide to visit here will certainly appreciate the unsurpassed transparency of the local water.
Wild lagoon in the Tonkiy Mys microdistrict
The photo shows the wild beach of Gelendzhik, located in a deserted lagoon. The coast is strewn with large stones and pebbles. Lovers of secluded relaxation will feel very comfortable here. Pristine nature, clear sea and silence are definitely worth sacrificing the benefits of civilization for. Moreover, there is a highway nearby and there is somewhere to park the car.
Microdistrict Magnolia
It is located near a closed private sector, so it is always well-groomed and clean. The infrastructure is almost undeveloped; unfortunately, there is no entertainment, as well as showers, changing rooms and bathrooms. Necessary accessories for a beach holiday can be purchased at nearby retail outlets. The medium-sized pebbles that cover the strip allow you to calmly approach the water, in some places even barefoot.
"Sosnovka"
Tops the ranking of the most inaccessible and remote. To get to it, you have to overcome a steep descent. But believe me, it's worth it. The coast strewn with small pebbles offers a magnificent view. Naturally, there are no amenities here, so you will have to take everything you need with you. Just remember that after resting you will have to carry out a long climb - do not overload yourself with things.
"Krucha"
Despite the fact that no one will demand a fee for visiting, mostly only locals and rare connoisseurs of non-standard recreation come here. You should take everything you need with you and be sure to think about what you will use to hide from the sun. There are simply no shaded corners here. Access to the sea is hampered by medium and large pebbles, which can injure your feet. When swimming, you need to be careful, the depth increases rapidly, and you may encounter abundantly overgrown algae.
"At the lighthouse"
Located on Cape Tolstoy next to the well-known lighthouse. The difficult descent is perhaps the most noticeable drawback of this beach area. For example, it is not safe to go down with children. The coast and bottom are covered with stones, it is impossible to walk on them barefoot. By the end of the season, the strip becomes noticeably polluted. Not all vacationers clean up after themselves. But despite the disadvantages, tourists and locals still strive to come here, making their choice in favor of the clean sea and beautiful views.
Camp "Niva - Rostselmash"
He is often seen in numerous photos of the sea and beaches of Gelendzhik. Located in the Tolsty Mys microdistrict. The coast has large and small pebbles. It is distinguished by its purity of water, impressive size and free access. There is a scuba diving club on site, which will certainly interest diving enthusiasts. There is also a kebab shop, rental of water equipment and numerous retail outlets. There are rides and ice cream stands for children.
Wild beaches of Tolstoy Cape
We'll tell you about places that are popular among tourists and local residents, despite the lack of infrastructure. Some are easy to get to due to the presence of roads and settlements nearby. But there are often those whose access is significantly difficult due to steep slopes and remoteness. Vacationers are attracted to such places by the purity of the water, the splendor of pristine nature and the opportunity to retire.
"Betta Farm"
This is a real secluded corner on the Black Sea coast. It is famous for its clean air, the healing power of which is provided by numerous pines and junipers. The fine pebble surface, gentle slope, lack of strong wind and waves make it especially attractive to city guests and the local population. They are given free entry and rental of beach equipment. Satisfying your hunger will not be difficult in canteens and cafeterias.
Beach of the boarding house "Thin Cape"
The well-equipped “pebble-sand” bathing area was closed from the direction of the main sea area by a breakwater, which allowed resort guests to swim comfortably and safely during a storm. And the depth, by the way, is growing here slowly. Thanks to the boarding house, sheds and changing rooms appeared at this point.
The final stop of bus route No. 5 is nearby. Come by car too. There are parking lots here too. You can go from the dead end street. Postal. Tonky Cape beach is 400 m. In some places it goes 70 m deep. And you can spend the night in a boarding house (about which they write “there are no amenities”), “At Marina’s” or in the luxurious residential complex “Zdorovye”.
At your service are small seaside cafes for romantic meetings, located in the premises of former boathouses, awnings, as well as a wide asphalt piece of the seaside - with a balustrade, lanterns, a descent onto pebbles and a turning pontoon stretched over 160 m.
Every year more than 10,000 guests stay at our hotel on Thin Cape, but only a few know about the history of the place where they are now vacationing! Thin Cape is not only a picturesque and quiet place with a clear sea and low slopes along which it is easy to descend to the shore. This is a real treasure trove of amazing historical facts!
Did you know that Thin Cape - the very place where our hotel "Lyudmila" now stands - used to be the center of the Greek colony "Torik"? That the lands of Gelendzhik did not belong to Russia for most of their history? That for centuries the main European empires fought for the right to own the lands of Gelendzhik, since the city occupied an advantageous maritime position? Your holiday on Tonky Cape will become even more interesting when you learn these 10 facts about it!
Fact 1. Thin Cape was the center of the Greek colony
The earliest mention of Thin Cape dates back to the 6th century BC. It was then that the Greeks came to the territory of Tonky Cape. Here they created one of the numerous colonies of the Black Sea region at that time - “Torik”. Yes Yes! The same Cake in whose honor cottage villages, hotels and the beach on Thin Cape in Gelendzhik are now named. The ancient settlement was located right on the shore, opposite the modern Chaika hotel.

In 1971-1974, as a result of archaeological excavations, a surviving part of the ancient civilization was discovered. Removing layers of earth layer by layer, historians found streets of the ancient city, paved with stone, round wells, household items and tools made of metal.

The photo shows a fragment of an archaeological excavation - a building from the 6th-5th centuries BC with an area of 1,540 m². The foundation and walls of 21 rooms and 2 corridors have been preserved. The protruding corner of the building probably once served as a watchtower. A remarkable fact is that almost all the rooms of this fortress had exits leading to a courtyard with an area of 900 m².
Fact 2. The territory of Tonky Cape was repeatedly colonized by ancient European civilizations
In 63 BC, the Romans came to Gelendzhik to replace Torik, who presumably burned down in a fire after an attack by barbarian tribes. They built a port harbor here - Pagry. From then until our time, the territory of Tonky Cape has been assigned the position of a seaport. This port will be used for many years by the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, Kievan Rus, the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and Russia.

The territory of Gelendzhik had fertile lands and a warm, mild climate. The advantageous location - European sea trade routes passed through Gelendzhik - reinforced the desire of the ancient conquerors to make these lands their property.
Fact 3. Gelendzhik came into the possession of Tsarist Russia as a result of the Russian-Turkish War
For three centuries, from the end of the 15th century, the territory of modern Gelendzhik belonged to Turkey. These were dark times, since Gelendzhik was then the center of the slave trade. The Turks sold young mountain girls and local beauties to merchants arriving at the port harbor.
According to one version, the city got its name right then. Gelendzhik translated from Turkic means “white bride”. The sculpture of a young girl in a wedding dress, located in the center of the Gelendzhik embankment, reminds us of those distant events.
The “White Bride” statue on the Gelendzhik embankment.
After long wars between Russia and Turkey in 1829, the lands of Gelendzhik and the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus came into the possession of Russia. A defensive fortress was built on the territory of the city, and the port of Gelendzhik became a military base for the Black Sea Fleet.
Fact 4. The dachas of the Russian intelligentsia were located on Tonky Cape
At the end of the 19th century, the Russian intelligentsia and the middle bourgeoisie drew attention to the diversity of natural beauties of Gelendzhik and the climate with healing properties. After the construction of the Sukhumi highway, Gelendzhik began to attract even more guests. People liked it here, so the areas began to be intensively built up with private houses, sanatoriums and recreational facilities.

Private houses were built mainly on the territory of Tonky Cape and the adjacent village of Solntsedar, which was famous for the large number of sunny days compared to the center of Gelendzhik Bay.
Two more reasons why vacationers preferred Tonky Cape were its favorable location and low shore. It was easy to get down to the water, and the landscapes of the high and rocky shores of Tolstoy Cape were pleasant to admire.

By the beginning of the revolution, on the map of Gelendzhik Bay, in addition to Gelendzhik itself, it was written:
- the Borisovo estate is a private resort on the site of the current Blue Bay sanatorium;
- dacha place “Thin Cape” aka “Solntsedar”;
- lighthouse town "Cape Tolstoy";
- cement plant and village of the Franco-Russian company.
Fact 5. On the territory of Tonky Cape during the times of Tsarist Russia, a wine factory was opened, which is still operating!
In 1869, a wine factory was opened on Tonky Cape in Gelendzhik, which continues to operate to this day. The owner of the winery, Lyubov Firsova, created wines for the best wealthy houses and the royal table. Elizaveta Petrovna, for example, especially loved the dessert white wine “Pearl of Russia” from a local winery.

After the war, during the Soviet era, the winery not only retained its purpose, but also found a second wind. The products received dozens of medals at international exhibitions, took prizes, and the plant continued to create wines for the Soviet intelligentsia. Today you can visit on a tour and taste its best (in the entire history of the plant) wines - they are still produced!
Fact 6. During the time of Tsarist Russia, a French cement plant was built on the territory of Tonky Cape, which became the center of the opposition movement
In 1894, the Franco-Russian forces opened a cement production plant on the territory of Tonky Cape and built a settlement for the plant’s workers to live.
Photo from the archives of the Gelendzhik Museum of Local Lore.
Unexpectedly for everyone, the Gelendzhik cement plant became the center of the opposition movement. A powerful social-democratic group was formed at the plant, an underground printing house was opened to print propaganda materials, and an illegal Marxist circle arose in the workers' settlement. In 1916, a Bolshevik party cell was organized on the territory of the cement plant.
Fact 7. Thin Cape was heavily damaged by bombing during the Great Patriotic War
In 1942, the front line was established 20 kilometers from Gelendzhik. There were fierce battles for Novorossiysk, during which Gelendzhik was subjected to numerous bombings. The northern part of Gelendzhik was especially hard hit. The opponents intended to destroy the air base and naval port, which were located on the shore of Tonky Cape.

By the way, the naval base still stands in its historical place. The famous exhibition “Hydroaviasalon”, where the best aerobatic teams of Russia, “Swifts”, “Russian Knights”, annually demonstrate their skills, takes place on the territory of the Gelendzhik hydroair base.

Beaches on the map of Tonky Cape
Arriving in Gelendzhik, the Soviet tourist was the first to look at the beaches of Tonky Cape. They were already visible in the window - during the landing approach. Reviews recognize swimming recreation as unsuitable for recreation with small children. There are many pitfalls here. But as for adults, there are piers for going into the water (diving, swimming, fishing), and for a fun time there are cafes and nightclubs, extreme entertainment, souvenir shops and much more interesting things. In conclusion, we suggest about the place of the video, enjoy watching.
Torik
The coastal area is the first equipped place for recreation. The name is associated with a housing complex of a similar name. The beach is a worthy continuation of it. Unfortunately, the development was never completed and at present the section of the peninsula remains unfinished.
For approximately 2 km, the coastal edge is quite narrow and not convenient for accommodating vacationers; it reaches a maximum of 10 m. The surface consists of large stones mixed with pebbles. The local population built them into something like breakwaters. A plus can be highlighted in the presence of clear sea water due to the presence of rocky cover.
Accommodation
View housing on Thin Cape Gelendzhik
You can stay in this area either in the private sector of Tonky Cape or in a hotel. What exactly to choose, you must decide long before arriving at the resort and book a room in advance.
Indeed, very often in hotels and inns on the Thin Cape (Gelendzhik) they cannot accommodate guests even for the night, since there are no free places. This happens especially at the height of the holiday season – July and August.
With the guest houses of the Thin Cape of Gelendzhik, things are a little better, since the private sector still predominates in this area of the resort.
Thin Cape of Gelendzhik is “rich” in recreation centers. There are four of them in this territory - “Avtomobilist”, “Scarlet Sails”, “Vzlyot”, “APK Gelendzhik”. They can serve as a good alternative to hotels and guest houses.
By the way, if you don’t like large crowds of people, relax during the so-called velvet season - at the beginning of autumn.
And prices for accommodation, especially in the private sector and guest houses on the Thin Cape of Gelendzhik, are much lower at this time.
For those who prefer to live and relax almost in nature, there are campsites and car campsites. These are organized places where tourists sleep in tents or summer houses.
Accommodation prices in such conditions are significantly lower than in hotels on the Thin Cape of Gelendzhik.
But some of the resort’s campsites are located in places that cannot be reached by a regular car. Then you will need to hire an all-terrain vehicle and leave your car in the parking lot.
If you are going to a resort not only to relax, but also to receive treatment and improve your health, then you need a sanatorium.
There are several of them in the area of the Thin Cape of Gelendzhik - “Rus”, “Solnechnaya”, “Builder”, “Blue Wave”. As a rule, the price of the tour includes not only medical and recreational activities, but also food.
Sun Beach
Right behind the “wild” beach on Herzen Street is the beach of the children’s sanatorium “Sun”. The children's camp has been closed for a long time, but the beach has been preserved. It is available to everyone. It's always free here. This is due to the fact that the beach cannot be reached by car. All things will have to be carried in your hands.
There is no infrastructure on the beach. You won’t find the usual entertainment here; there aren’t even changing cabins or showers. The beach is popular for walks with small children who love to sleep in silence in the fresh air.
Beaches of Tolstoy Cape
Tolstoy Cape has only two types of beaches: equipped pebble beaches and rocky wild ones. The cape got its name due to the fact that the coast here is higher and wider than that of the opposite cape.
Polar Star Beach
In 2010, the beach underwent reconstruction. Now its territory is landscaped, there are entertainment and necessary amenities. The beach is adjacent to the territory of the Kempinski Hotel. If one of the vacationers crosses the border of the Kempinski beach, he will be stopped by a vigilant security guard.
You can get to the Polar Star by car, but you can leave the car only on Krasnogvardeisky or Krymskaya streets. Directly next to the beach there is paid parking. Route taxi No. 5 and bus No. 1 go to Polar Star. The stop near the beach is called Tolstoy Mys.
Kempinski Beach
Entrance to the beach is free for hotel guests. Other tourists will have to purchase a subscription worth 2,000 rubles to visit the beach. This price includes access to the spa and fitness room. The beach itself is well equipped. It has umbrellas, sun loungers, a medical office, a lifeguard station, beach equipment rental, and entertainment for children and adults. The entire territory is under security and constant video surveillance.
Wild beaches of Tolstoy Cape
There are several wild beaches on Tolstoy Cape. The closest one to the city is located between the Kempinski beach and the Tent restaurant. Here, on the shore, on a 200-meter stretch, there are several comfortable places to relax. The shore is pebbly and a little rocky, but entry into the water is convenient. In mid-summer there are a lot of vacationers here.
The cleanest water in Gelendzhik Bay is in small lagoons near the “Shater” restaurant. From here you have a beautiful view of the city. Small wild beaches are very popular among tourists and local residents, but there is no infrastructure here yet.
On Tolstoy Cape there is the well-known wild beach “Krucha”, which is popular among nudists. It is named so because of the high and steep shore, from which only the bravest and bravest dare to go down to the sea. The strip of beach is very narrow. You can get to it in several ways: along the stairs near the lighthouse or along the path next to the Na Kruche restaurant. Clean water and beautiful scenery are guaranteed on this beach.
The wild Sosnovka beach is the farthest from the city center. It is located behind the Parus microdistrict next to the Sosnovoe gardening partnership. Snow-white cliffs rise behind the beach. The descent to the sea is quite steep, first along the rocks and then along a metal staircase. You can get to the beach by car; there is a good dirt road leading to the garden community. Those who come to this beach will be rewarded with clear water and stunning sea views.
