Administratively, the region is divided into 38 districts and 15 cities. In addition, there are 11 more cities of regional subordination. The indicated areas into which the subject is divided have rural settlements, cities and villages as their centers. On the territory of the subject there are 1,725 rural settlements, united into 411 rural districts.
In total, the subject occupies 75.5 thousand km2, which is about 0.4% of the country’s territory. The length of the subject's borders is 1,540 kilometers, of which 740 run along the coast. The region borders the Rostov region, Stavropol Territory, and Abkhazia. Completely surrounds the territory of Adygea.
The capital of the subject is the city of Krasnodar.
Coastal regions of the region
As you can see, the region has a fairly large area and includes territories with different natural conditions.
The region is washed by the Black Sea and the main beach resorts of the country are located on its coast. Due to the warm climate and location in the subtropics, the holiday season begins in May and ends towards the end of the autumn season. The Tuapse region is the most popular among tourists. There is a fairly wide coastal strip with a variety of beaches. At the same time, the weather is almost always warm, clear, and without precipitation. The infrastructure of the area is built for tourists. The area itself is not very big. It is inhabited by a little more than 120 thousand people. The main settlements are located along the sea and live by renting houses and premises to tourists.
Also, tourists can visit the Temryuk district, located in the west of the Krasnodar Territory. In addition to the Black Sea coast, this area has access to the Sea of Azov, which is famous for its health resorts and is perfect for families with small children (the gentle shore and low salinity of the water make this sea quite safe). The center of the region is the city of Temryuk. In addition to it, there are 11 more settlements. The total number of inhabitants of the area is about 115 thousand people, but due to tourists it can be quite crowded.
If you want to visit the Azov coast specifically, then you can go to the Slavyansky region. There are plenty of quiet rural settlements with a calm pace of life and without the bustle of the city. The area is quite large with a population of 140 thousand people. Tourists choose these resorts for a relaxed, quiet holiday by the sea. There is 1 city and 14 villages in the region. In coastal settlements you can easily rent housing for the period you need.
Thanks to the well-developed tourism industry, anyone can find a hotel to suit any needs. We recommend that you make reservations in the hotels you like in advance, since you may not be able to make it in time during the holiday season. However, if you do not want to stay in a specific hotel, you can always find a free room or house on the coast that will suit you in terms of price and quality. Almost everyone here is involved in the tourism business. Residents of other regions are also buying real estate on the coast with an eye toward starting their own business.
Where is it located and how to get to the village of Yuzhny in Krasnodar
PGT Yuzhny is located near the Vitaminkombinat microdistrict in Krasnodar. You can get to it both along the Yeisk and Rostov highways. It is more convenient to travel along the Yeisk Highway; there are usually fewer traffic jams during rush hours. The village lies behind the railway, which still creates traffic jams, especially in the evening.
Yuzhny borders on the villages of Berezovy, Lazurny, the Vitaminkombinat microdistrict, as well as various gardening partnerships located on the outskirts of Krasnodar. The central street of the Yuzhny village is st. Mira.
The big advantage of Yuzhny is the availability of an electric train to Krasnodar. Just 20 minutes on the road and you find yourself in the city. At the same time, traffic jams with this method of transportation are not a hindrance. The train stop is located in the center of the village, which is very convenient.
Transport network of the South

- There are no trams.
- There are no trolleybuses.
Areas located in the mountains
In addition to a beach holiday, lovers of mountain hiking will also find a lot of interesting things to do in the Krasnodar Territory.
Any time of year is suitable for visiting mountainous areas. In winter, ski resorts begin to operate. The region has a good infrastructure for skiing: slopes are equipped, lifts are installed, equipment rental is organized, and special bases are built. You can choose a slope that suits your skill level. Hotels have been built for accommodation. In other periods, mountainous areas await hikers. In summer, mountaineering routes and mountain rafting are open here for extreme sports enthusiasts. Hiking and horseback riding routes are also available for those who prefer a quiet, contemplative holiday. It is worth mentioning the wonderful hunting and fishing in these places. A visit to the mountains will give you an experience of a lifetime!
Climbers should pay attention to the Otradnensky district. Here is the Drum Rock, which is very suitable for training climbs. For those who like simple mountain hikes, we can recommend the mountains of the Seversky region. The local trails are quite steep and climbing will require some effort, but this is still not mountaineering. From the top, by the way, there is a beautiful view of the surrounding area.

Industrial cluster of the Krasnodar region
The Krasnodar region is not only an all-Russian health resort, but also an all-Russian breadbasket. The fact is that in addition to the warm climate, the region is located on chernozem soils and does not experience moisture deficiency, which ensures high productivity here. This is one of the main agricultural regions of the country, where huge crops of grain and beets are grown (1st place in Russia). The region produces 7% of the country's total agricultural products.
One of the main production areas of the region is the Krasnoarmeysky district, located in the west of the region. About one hundred thousand people live here and are engaged in agriculture. These are mainly crop farms specializing in grain crops and livestock complexes specializing in cattle.
A little to the west is the Kalininsky district, which also specializes in growing a number of crops. There is a fairly flat topography and good soils, which facilitates the use of large areas for arable land.
In the southeast there is a small Uspensky district, engaged only in agriculture. There are only about 40 thousand people here.
It is worth mentioning the Krylovsky district, whose population of forty thousand is almost entirely concentrated in 10 main enterprises.
The Pavlovsky district is located in the north of the subject. It is located at a distance from the sea and has a continental climate favorable for growing cereals and sunflowers.
However, the region cannot be called only agricultural. There are many industrial enterprises here. Of course, the main share belongs to processing enterprises. Food production accounts for 42% of the region’s total industrial production. In addition to it, the structure also includes the fuel industry, mechanical engineering and the production of building materials. The main enterprises are concentrated in Krasnodar, Novorossiysk and Armavir. Access to the sea is not only a resort, but also access to maritime transport. Therefore, the region is a major transport hub.
Good natural conditions attract crowds of tourists to the region every year. Here you can simply relax on the beach, attend parties, or go to the mountains. Unique health resources make it possible to treat many ailments here. There are many sanatoriums of various types in the region. Each part of the Krasnodar region has its own face. Each district participates to the best of its ability in the economy of the region and the entire country.
In conclusion, we can conclude that the Krasnodar region is a pretty good place to relax and move. It has a favorable climate, fertile soils, developed infrastructure, good rates of economic development, industrial production, mineral resources and access to the sea. Finally, the region is a resort region. All this makes the subject a fairly rich region with good prospects for the future.
Resort area
Yeisk district is considered a resort area of Kuban, conducive to a cozy family vacation. A large number of tourists are attracted by the pebble beach area, fresh water lakes, the warm Azov Sea, and the rich flora and fauna of the area.
The climate is temperate continental. In the summer months, the air temperature in this area of the Krasnodar Territory is about 25 degrees. The shallow part of the sea near the coast warms up to 26 degrees.
Shcherbinovsky district is located in the north of the region, bordering on Yeisk. The fertile soils of this area provide high grain yields.
In the summer months, in this picturesque corner of Kuban, which is in last place in the list of districts of the Krasnodar Territory, children's camps and recreation centers operate. Vacationers from all over Russia come to these places to relax and receive treatment.
