Story

The age of the city of Anapa is more than 2500 years. Previously, the city of Sindika, and later Gorgippia, was located on the territory of Anapa. In the 14th century, the Genoese lived on this site and built a strong fortification here under the name Mapa. Part of the Anapa fortress was destroyed by Tamerlane in 1395, and in 1475, during the reign of Mehmed II, the Ottoman commander Keduk Ahmed Pasha captured the Anapa castle and founded a Turkish garrison in it.

In 1782, a fortress was built, which was captured several times by Russian troops during the Russian-Turkish wars. Anapa, along with the rest of the coast, was finally annexed to Russia by the Treaty of Adrianople in 1829, and in 1846 the Anapa fortress received city status. During the Crimean War, the fortress was destroyed in May 1854.

By the beginning of the 20th century, the city began to develop rapidly and was already a famous resort and port. By 1940, 14 sanatoriums and more than 10 pioneer camps were built in Anapa. During the Great Patriotic War, the resort suffered greatly and was destroyed, but was completely restored in the 50s of the 20th century.

Anapa lighthouse

The first lighthouse began to be built on the Anapa Cape back in 1898, and ten years later it began to work. During the Great Patriotic War, the city was captured by the Nazis, and the building was destroyed. However, in 1955, restoration work began, thanks to which the main attraction of Anapa still stands on the seashore.

The lighthouse is located on a rocky cape and is a black and white tower, its height is 21 meters. It shines a red light on ships with a range of up to 18.5 miles. There is an observation deck for tourists inside the premises. There is a rocky beach right below the lighthouse.

In addition to dolphins of various species, other sea animals also participate in the show. From a technical point of view, it should be noted that spectators sitting in the front rows may be splashed with water during the performance. The building of the dolphinarium clearly needs renovation, everything looks quite old and shabby, the view from the auditorium is spoiled by unnecessary objects. After the performance, visitors can buy paintings painted by a dolphin, ride in a boat pulled by a dolphin, or swim with dolphins - all for an additional fee. Photo and video shooting during the performance is also paid, this is monitored by the dolphinarium staff. Tickets for the show can be purchased both in Novorossiysk and Anapa, and at the box office of the dolphinarium itself. When purchasing a tour, transfer and insurance are additionally offered.

In addition to the beautiful view, Bald Mountain is interesting because of its military base with balls of air defense radar installations. To start the walk, you can drive through the village of Supsekh to the Swallow's Nest and the observation deck. You can also simply walk from the Walnut Grove Park in Anapa along the top of the coast, without turning anywhere. Or down along the beach, up to the “873 steps” staircase, and going up it towards the balls. You can walk from Swallow's Nest to the military base in 20-30 minutes. Lake Sukko (Cypress Lake)

The lake is located in the valley of the Sukko River, next to the village of the same name. Tourist groups usually make a stop at the lake during horseback riding tours. There I rode a horse for the first time in my life. Near the lake, in addition to the stables, there are two more local attractions: “African Village” and “Knight’s Castle”. The main attraction of this place is the 32 swamp cypress trees that grow right in the water. Because of them, the lake is called Cypress. It is better to come here early in the morning, when there are still no crowds of tourists. There is a beach on the shore of the lake; you can rent a catamaran or rent a gazebo with a barbecue grill. In sunny weather and at sunset, the color of the water in the lake is especially beautiful: it changes from azure to emerald. There is a fee to get to the lake, but you can walk there and leave your car in the free parking lot.

The castle for show tournaments with performances based on medieval knightly fights is located in a picturesque location, next to the lake, in the valley of the Sukko River. The castle is of impressive size, can accommodate 1,200 spectators, and its battlements are visible from afar. In addition to the actual performance with fights and stunts on horses, fire shows and tightrope walkers, here you can shoot with a bow or crossbow, go to the torture museum, take pictures in the armor of knights, take part in a pottery master class, ride a donkey or mint a souvenir for yourself coin In addition to all of the above, on the territory of the castle there is a tavern, a hotel, a blacksmith shop, and souvenir shops. The artists perform in beautiful, bright costumes, drawing those who wish from the audience with them. The village has several African-style huts and an amphitheater. There are tables for spectators around the stage, there is also a bar next to the stage, and barbecue is offered to those who wish. Here you can find wild beaches and waterfalls, many species of birds, butterflies and fish.

Central embankment

The Anapa embankment was reconstructed in 2002; now it is a resort complex, paved with granite and stretching 5 km in length. The paths are paved with paving stones, the alleys are decorated with fountains, lanterns, flower arrangements, Mediterranean palm trees and landscape sculptures.

In order to go on vacation with your family in 2021, you should pay attention to the coast of Anapa. Why the embankment? You can find such places at every seaside resort, because they are the most favorite and sought-after places, regardless of whether for tourists or for local citizens.

In Anapa, the embankment is in great demand, especially in the summer, especially in the morning hours, since here you can enjoy the incredible dazzling sunrise, the blue waves of the sea and the clouds that float above them. In the afternoon, tourists and locals come here to sunbathe, soak in the warm sea or ride the waves. In order to find rest in the evenings, you will have to leave early, because at night it is simply impossible to find a free place here.

If you go to the upper tier, you can see wonderful views of the water area. From here you can see all the beauty:

Monument to Budzinsky

Address: Anapa, st. Pushkina, 30.

The monument to the founder of the Anapa resort, doctor and public figure Vladimir Adolfovich Budzinsky was erected in 1998 at the entrance to the Kuban sanatorium, next to the Central Embankment. Authors: sculptor V.P. Polyakov. and architect Rysin Yu.V.

Budzinsky, at his own expense, built the first water and mud bath in the city, which opened on July 21, 1900. In 1909, he opened the Bimlyuk sanatorium with the Orthopedic Institute, and in 1913 the hydropathic clinic and the Luchezarnaya sanatorium. In 1915, Emperor Nicholas II awarded Budzinsky the title of “Honorary Citizen of Anapa.” V.A. Budzinsky tirelessly argued that Anapa is an ideal place for a resort. On the scroll held by the granite Budzinski is the inscription:

“Anapa’s medicinal remedies, in addition to its wonderful climate, include: sea bathing, mud from the local salt lake and mud volcanoes, sandy shores, mountain climbing, medicinal grapes, goat’s milk, kefir.”

City infrastructure

Anapa is a convenient city for recreation, living and work. It is located along the federal highway M25, running from Novorossiysk to the Kerch Strait. All types of transport links are quite well developed - bus traffic, railway, airport and even a small but international seaport - everything for the convenience of movement of residents and guests of the resort.

There are many minibuses inside the city that will take you to any part of the city. Of course, today no city can live without traffic jams. Anapa is no exception. Naturally, the Central region is especially susceptible to traffic congestion.

Anapa is a resort city, but this does not prevent its residents from learning and developing intellectually and spiritually. Kindergartens and secondary schools, secondary specialized and higher educational institutions. Specialized institutions - art schools, sports and art schools.

Archaeological Museum "Gorgippia"

More than 2.5 thousand years ago, on the site of Anapa there was the ancient fortress city of Gorgippia, a stronghold of the Bosporan kingdom. For a long time nothing was known about it; archaeological excavations began here only in 1829, and scientific research only in 1954. However, the number and value of the finds were so great that in the late 70s of the 20th century an archaeological museum appeared in Anapa.

There are two exhibition areas: one is under the roof of the building, the other is in the open air. The halls are made of light stone, inside there are decorative columns, portals and pediments. The stretch ceiling of the museum imitates the starry sky. On the territory of this Anapa landmark there are several thousand artifacts: sculptures, women's jewelry and coins, funeral masks, amphorae and household items.

Cruiser Kutuzov

The cruiser "Mikhail Kutuzov", which now houses the naval ship museum, is moored at the central embankment of Novorossiysk, next to the Seaport building. A huge warship has been turned into one of the city's most important attractions. A tour of the museum with a guide gives you the opportunity to learn interesting facts about the structure of the ship and the life of sailors. If you don’t want to take a tour, you can just walk along the deck, look at part of the ship’s interior and exhibits, and take pictures for memory. True, the interior looks very brutal; a cosmetic renovation would not do any harm to the museum. On the other hand, this type of cruiser also has some flavor. In general, the museum's exhibition is not very rich. Among the exhibits are models of warships behind tarnished glass, the sparse furnishings of the sailors' cabins and other rooms of the ship. I'll write a post about my visit to the cruiser soon. Read more about the Cruiser Kutuzov.

Ticket price : 200 rubles for adults and 100 rubles for children.

Almost all branches of the military are represented by more than a hundred exhibits. On the territory of the museum there is also a monument to the liberation of Temryuk from the German invaders in the form of a T-34 tank on a pedestal. There are no guides in this museum, nor are there any fences - you can touch everything with your hands. Children will especially like it here. You can also take interesting pictures with equipment in the museum. The condition of the equipment is not for everyone, everything possible has been painted over.

Lotus Valley

The Lotus Valley is located near the village of Golubitskaya and the Akhtanizovsky Estuary, not very far from Taman and Anapa. Lotuses appeared in these places in the 1980s. They do not take root in salt water, so they only successfully took root in a desalinated reservoir. Lotuses actively bloom from mid-July to August, stems and leaves protrude from the water, and do not float on its surface, as is usually the case in Asia, their homeland. To get to the Lotus Valley by car, you need to drive along the Temryuk-Strelka highway to the Kazachiy Erik River, and then follow the signs for “Lotuses”. You can also buy an excursion to the valley at almost any travel agency. It is better to come to the lotuses at dawn, when they are just beginning to open, and in July-August, when they bloom. Although they say that they are already starting in June too. Since the shore around the lotuses is swampy, tourists are usually taken to the flowers by boat along a canal that was dug by the Cossacks 200 years ago. The excursion to the lotuses is interesting and romantic, and a boat ride adds to the experience of admiring the exotic flowers.

Mud volcanoes in Taman

There are many active mud volcanoes on the Taman Peninsula. This is one of the main natural attractions of the Krasnodar region. Mud volcanoes in Taman have been known since ancient times; Homer wrote about them in his Odyssey, placing in this area the entrance to the underground kingdom, Hades. The mud erupted by geysers is highly valued because it has a healing effect. It is used to prevent and treat many diseases. Among the largest and most famous volcanoes of Taman, which are visited annually by thousands of tourists from all over the country, are Tizdar, Plevak, Karabetova Sopka (I was here because there are no people there) and others. There are about 26 of them in total. The mud temperature in most volcanoes is 20-25 C, but in some it is lower. The volcanoes of the Taman Peninsula act periodically, periods of rest are replaced by activity. Some have already cooled down and turned into hills, others are still throwing out mud, which consists mainly of blue clay, mineral water and contains bromine, iodine and a little oil. Some volcanoes, like Tizdar, are well-equipped tourist complexes with all the necessary infrastructure, others retain their pristine, wild appearance.

According to one version, it was in his honor that the source of healing Semigorsk water was named the spring of St. Vladimir.

To this day, only a well from that time remains on the site of the sanatorium. Its water is carbonated with methane. This is an explosive volatile gas, which is taken into account during bottling: it is replaced with carbon dioxide.

Oceanarium "Reef"

In 2015, an oceanarium opened in Anapa, whose aquariums represent the coral-algae ecosystems of the Great Barrier Reef in the Pacific Ocean and the Red Sea. All aquariums have relatively small volumes, thanks to which predatory species live separately from “herbivores”, and the topography of the seabed is also imitated.

The Reef is home to rare species of sharks, exotic fish, stingrays, shellfish, piranhas, octopuses, starfish and urchins. The accompanying signs near each aquarium contain detailed information about each of the waterfowl: where they live, how they develop, how long they live and what they eat.

On the excursion, visitors can listen to the life of coral reefs, watch the feeding of piranhas, moray eels and sharks, take pictures with a starfish in the palms of their hands, and also feed the fish in the pond themselves. In one of the sections you can see inhabitants of freshwater bodies of water: carp, sturgeon, catfish, crayfish, perch, pike. In the other - the inhabitants of the Black Sea: stingrays, flounder, ruffes, greenfinches, sea roosters and many others. Each tank of this Anapa attraction has special lighting so that all waterfowl can be seen. There are low-mounted windows for children. Near the modules hang photographs of sea inhabitants and signs with their descriptions.

In the ground-based exhibition you can look at shells, dried crabs and starfish, and stuffed fish. On the second floor there is a terrarium in which snakes, monitor lizards, and chameleons live.

The musical list consists of 10 tunes: from the group “ABBA” to the composer Bach. For illumination, 320 lamps and 300 nozzles are used here. Fountains shoot up to 15 meters in height, so sometimes they are called not only singing, but also “dancing”.

Bugaz Spit

The spit in the vicinity of Anapa, stretching for 12 kilometers along the Bugaz estuary from Anapa to the village of Veselovka, attracts many surfers and kiters.

This place is characterized by fine sand on the coast, safe shallow waters, clean water and properly blowing winds. Therefore, there are about 10 kite schools, 2 windsurfing schools and the Jamaica dive club on the shore.

Observation deck "Soaring Eagle"

The Soaring Eagle monument was erected in 2013 in the village of Supsekh, at the beginning of the Caucasus Mountains, stretching from Anapa to the Caspian Sea with a length of 1,100 km. Here you have views of the endless steppes, the sea, the mountains and the city itself. The “Soaring Eagle” has become a symbol of Anapa and has gained popularity among tourists. The authors are sculptor Vasily Polyakov and architect Yuri Rysin.

Geography and climate

The city of Anapa is located in the southwestern part of the Krasnodar Territory on the Black Sea coast, 170 km from Krasnodar, 360 km from Sochi and 1691 km from Moscow. The location of the city is unusual in that it is located at the junction of the foothills of the Caucasus and the steppes of the Taman Peninsula. Caucasian forests and foothills give way to endless flowering valleys and fields, and they, in turn, alternate with sea estuaries.

Anapka River

The climate here is Mediterranean, with dry summers and cool winters with prolonged rainfall. Severe frosts occur very rarely. Due to the fact that the mountains in this area are less high, the air in Anapa is drier and more healthy.

Bald Mountain (Swallow's Nests)

At a distance of 9 km from Anapa in the village of Supsekh there is Lysaya Gora, a hill with a height of 319 meters. During the Soviet years, a closed military unit was located here; to this day you can see military equipment, barbed wire and signs indicating the restricted zone.

Many years ago, the Serebryannaya River flowed in these places, flowing into the Malaya Bay. From it the inhabitants of the ancient city of Gorgippia, which existed 2.5 thousand years ago, took water. However, in the 19th century, the riverbed was filled in as the river’s springs dried up. And in 1903, excavations were carried out in these places, and archaeologists discovered a limestone tomb containing the ashes of the person buried in a stone box.

On the territory of the Anapa attraction there is an observation deck of Swallow's Nests, where tourists love to take pictures. The rocky ledge on which the site is located is favored by swallows; there are many of their nests here, hence the name. Nearby is the grave of Boris Yamushev, the first Anapa paraglider. A giant metal staircase of 800 steps leads to the sea.

Enterprises and work in Anapa

Again, the very definition of the city as a resort determines the main directions of economic activity in the region. The work is seasonal. In the summer in Anapa there is an influx of vacationers, who, in fact, are the main source of income for the majority of the local population. Not only the main source, but often the only one.

The vast majority of locals live the entire “off” season on what they managed to earn in the summer. Therefore, with the beginning of the season, prices quickly “creep” up, if not “take off.” Private owners of hotels, boarding houses, sanatoriums, sellers (of anything), service personnel, taxi drivers and many, many others make money from vacationers. Many people come to the city in search of seasonal work, fortunately there are always vacancies for everyone.

Are all vacationers the same?

Do you think that all vacationers are the same? No, they are completely different! Some come on budget vouchers received at the enterprises where they work. Often this category of tourists come to relax outside the summer season, during the autumn-winter-spring period. People with “tight wallets” also come to more or less prestigious “normal” sanatoriums and boarding houses. They have fun and live large, generously giving gifts to everyone who collaborates or comes into contact with them in one way or another.

Monument to a Vacationer

Someone vacations with their family using funds accumulated over a whole year in righteous labors. Accordingly, these funds are used wisely, carefully, and diligently. Autotourism is a very common phenomenon. Vacationers use the services of campsites, private mini-hotels and inns, where they can safely leave their vehicles. The last two categories mainly feed private owners who rent out both normal rooms or rooms in their house and anthill huts for 500 rubles per day.

Industry

Yes, after all, there is industry in Anapa. Not simple, but special - specific. For example, the wine production plant is JSC Dzhemete. In the vicinity of the city, winemaking and viticulture are well developed. The Anapa winery is famous for its ancient traditions.

Anapa vineyards

What other businesses exist at the resort? This is a meat processing plant, a bakery, a brewery, a spinning and weaving factory, as well as the production of plastic products and building materials.

Reserve "Big Utrish"

Since 1994, a unique natural area with mountain landscapes, lagoons, waterfalls and wildlife, located on the Black Sea coast, has been considered a protected area and is called “Big Utrish”. Its area is 5,112 hectares, most of which includes marine waters.

Here is the cleanest water in the Anapa region, and the air is considered healing for people with bronchopulmonary diseases. On the shore there are rare plant species from the pre-glacial period, many of which do not grow anywhere else in the world: 60 species of shrubs and trees are listed in the Red Book. And only in the reserve lives a large Mediterranean turtle.

Districts and real estate of Anapa

Many Russian residents wonder when moving to Anapa for permanent residence, which district of the city to choose, which microdistrict is better than all the others. The real estate market in Anapa is considered one of the most promising on the Black Sea coast, and all thanks to the flat terrain, unlike other resort towns in the North Caucasus. Massive and orderly construction of new modern houses is underway in all microdistricts of the city. In general, characterizing Anapa, we note that it is a green and comfortable city.

Microdistricts of Anapa

Is it good to live in the city center?

Complex issue. In Anapa there are no separate “elite” microdistricts, but there are separate elite expensive houses. As the “experienced” residents of the city themselves say, it’s still better to live in Anapa itself than in the Anapa region. But again, it depends on where and to whom. Some people will prefer to live in the center, because it is to some extent prestigious. Since everything is nearby - shops, shopping centers, the beach, administration, attractions and numerous crowds of tourists. You just step outside the threshold and immediately find yourself in a noisy whirlwind of entertainment, cafes, bars and discos. Exactly what vacationers are looking for.

Evening bustle in the Center

Some people will like to live a little further from the center. Precisely because of the peace and quiet. Here, as in the center, there is no abundance of nightclubs, bars and discos, there are no those same strolling vacationers. Who cannot always restrain their emotions and impressions of their vacation. Now the city's microdistricts are being built up with new high-rise buildings with all the appropriate infrastructure.

In terms of price level, housing in the center is the most expensive; there is little free land. Hotels, guest houses, and large beautiful private houses predominate. And everyone rents out housing!

Average market prices for real estate in Anapa

  • The price per square meter of housing in apartments is from 56 thousand rubles.
  • 1 hectare of land for individual housing construction - 1 million rubles.
  • The price for home ownership is on average from 7 million rubles.
  • Commercial real estate, sq. meter - from 90 thousand rubles.

Microdistrict "Vysoky Bereg"

The area is named so for a reason. It is located on a high, steep shore of the Black Sea, in the western part of the city. Amazing seascapes open to you from the windows of the houses. Since the end of 2010, active construction of multi-storey residential complexes has been underway in the microdistrict. Residents value their neighborhood for its wonderful pebble beach and open sea. This is one of the most prestigious areas to live.

Highland

12 microdistrict

Actually, initially it was 1-2, that is, the first and second microdistricts. But, as you know, people like to simplify their concepts. The microdistricts were smoothly and as if by chance renamed “Twelfth”. This is a cozy “bedroom” area in the eastern part of the city. The area is built up with panel and brick five- and nine-story buildings. It’s good to live here, not to relax. Why not rest? Because it's a bit far from the beach and places of entertainment. But there is no night noise, housing is cheaper than in the center. The houses are comfortable enough to live in. Nearby are food markets and supermarkets. There is a school, kindergartens, a library and even a veterinary clinic. You can get to the city center by minibus in 10 minutes.

Pionersky Avenue

Not just a chic, but even a legendary street in Anapa. The avenue stretches along the sea from the city center to the village of Vityazevo, for more than 12 km. It runs along the seashore and is a highly developed and landscaped recreation area. There is the largest number of sanatoriums, boarding houses, camps and recreation centers here.
