Regions have been allocated funds to treat the population from coronavirus
The Russian government has allocated 89 billion rubles to cover costs associated with providing free medical care to citizens. The corresponding order on the allocation of funds from the reserve fund was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
It is noted that this money will allow focusing additional resources on combating coronavirus infection, including financial support for inpatient treatment, without reducing costs for routine medical care.
The Tver region, according to the published document, will receive 949.3 million rubles. Previously, 4.8 billion rubles were allocated for the purchase of drugs for the treatment of coronavirus.
Cities of the Tver region
Tver —
the capital of the region, a city with a population of 408 thousand people. It is located on the banks of the Volga, across which there are more than 30 bridges, giving the banks a picturesque view. Tver is famous for its ancient churches, of which many were built in the city. Since Soviet times, the city has inherited an impressive legacy in the form of machine-building enterprises that produce cars, excavators, and various equipment. Unfortunately, few new large enterprises are being created now, but trade and the service sector are developing. Pros: balanced economy, lots of greenery on city streets. Among the minuses, it is worth mentioning the poor condition of roads and utilities, the difficult environmental situation due to polluting enterprises.
Rzhev
- the second most populous city in the Tver region (61,083 people). The city was first mentioned in 1019, when it was part of the Smolensk Principality. Already in the 18th century, Rzhev was a developed commercial and industrial center. For courage and heroism during the Great Patriotic War, Rzhev received the title “City of Military Glory.” Today it is a large railway junction and an industrial city with several large engineering enterprises.
Vyshny Volochek
(50,344 people) - an ancient city on the most important trade route “from the Varangians to the Greeks.” When there were no railways, rivers were the main transport routes for merchants. When the Tveretsky Canal was dug, the role of Vyshny Volochok grew even more. In fact, the city existed due to hydraulic structures. But with the advent of railways, cargo flow bypassed the city, as a result of which Vyshny Volochek suffered a severe economic blow. Nowadays the city operates mainly in light industry. Cons: poor condition of roads.
Kimry
(47,637 people) - how the city began to develop only in the 20th century in connection with the construction of a defense engineering plant. It was here that the Soviet writer Alexander Fadeev, author of The Young Guard, was born. After the collapse of the USSR, the city's economy fell into decline, but crime flourished. Now they are trying to develop the city as a tourism center. Cons: unemployment, outdated infrastructure.
Torzhok
(47,644 people) is an ancient Russian city, mentioned back in 1139. Advantageously located at the crossroads of land and river trade routes, the city developed as a large trading center, for which it received its name. The heroic defense of Torzhok from Mongol-Tatar troops in 1238 saved Veliky Novgorod, which the invaders simply did not reach. Now the city has a developed infrastructure and industry, represented by mechanical engineering enterprises and design bureaus. Foreign companies locate their production facilities here. For example, in 2012, Royal Dutch Shell opened a lubricating oil plant worth $100 million.
