The park is located on Lenin Square on the right bank of the Sozh River, nearby is the former Gomiy stream. It appeared thanks to the efforts of military leaders Paskevich and Rumyantsev.

The creators have carefully preserved the components of the area that existed originally to this day, while trying not to disturb nature as much as possible. Taking into account the difficult terrain and proximity to the river, it can be understood that this was an incredibly difficult job. The trees for this park were brought directly from Warsaw, trying to recreate the former areas; in the 19th century it spread over 25 hectares.

Surprisingly, this park survived even during the Great Patriotic War, so this is a place where you should definitely go in Gomel on the weekend. Pines, birches, spruces, cedars, and other types of trees grow here. There are about six thousand of them in total. Only here you can see bilobed ginkgo biloba or red oak.
