Overview of the village of Partenit (Crimea). Beaches. Housing. Attractions

Partenit – Southern coast of Crimea

The village of Partenit is one of the pearls of the southern coast of Crimea, framed by subtropical greenery and azure of the Black Sea. In recent decades, Partenit has become a prestigious resort, very popular among people who value the quality of a beach holiday, complemented by the enjoyment of the unique Crimean nature and vivid impressions from visiting historical and cultural attractions.

Impressions from Partenit

The picturesque Partenite Valley stretches between the mountains and the Black Sea coast. Tall cypress trees, spreading pines, vineyards and juniper groves... According to reviews, Partenite is loved for its luxurious nature, mild climate and clean beaches. It is convenient to relax here at any time of the year!

Partenit differs from other Crimean resorts in that there are not a large number of shops with beach goods, smoky kebab shops and noisy barkers. The small green village consists of two streets that go down to the sea. The first coastline is almost entirely occupied by large sanatoriums “Aivazovskoye” and “Crimea”; further on there are apartment buildings.

Denchik0812: “On the plus side, I can mention the sea air, a lot of greenery, clean sea, not very expensive housing. I recommend this urban village to everyone for a relaxing family holiday.”

oks_tchistyackowa: “The room overlooked the terrace overlooking the sea and Bear Mountain or Ayu-Dag. Beauty... Especially in the evening, the bright moon, the sea, sea air, and music playing somewhere.”

Ancient Parthenite - history

People have chosen the territory of the valley since the Stone Age.
The Taurians lived here. Legend has it that the Taurians built a temple to their main goddess on Mount Ayu-Dag - the Temple of the Virgin. Then the Goths lived in the valley. Under them, Partenit was the capital. In the 4th-8th centuries, a port was made from Partenit, where ships arrived from different parts of the world.

In 1908, archaeologists found the temple and tomb of St. John of Gotha in the valley.

Partenit has a rich history. It was both a seaport and a capital, and eventually became an urban village. The village changed owners until it came to General Raevsky, who began to revive the valley.

Today Partenit is a popular and incredibly beautiful resort where you can have a great rest and strengthen your body.

Is it expensive to vacation in Partenit?

As at any resort on the southern coast of Crimea, prices in Partenit are high. In the high season of 2021, accommodation in sanatoriums costs from 3,700 rubles per day per person. Double hotel room - 2500-3500 rubles.

Due to sanctions, it is difficult to find housing in Crimea, but there are still several convenient services. Look for hotels on Hotellook, and private accommodation on Daily. Do not trust advertisements on Avito and similar sites. Book accommodation in Crimea only on reliable services with real photos and reviews from tourists, so as not to get a pig in a poke.

The average bill in a cafe for two, as in Yalta, is 900-1000 rubles. Leisure is also not cheap. Entry to Paradise Park costs 600 rubles per adult and 300 rubles per child. Find out how to withdraw money without commission in Crimea.

Look how much trips to Crimea cost.

Vadim: “It’s a 15-minute walk to the nearest beach through the entrance of the Crimea sanatorium.” Entrance fee is 150 rubles per adult, children are free. Sun loungers on the beach 100 rubles per day.”

The municipal beach of the resort is small, so it is better to sunbathe and swim on the pebble beaches of the sanatoriums. If you are staying in an apartment, entry costs 100 rubles. There is a free pass for hotel guests. The sea is clean, swimming is very pleasant.

According to reviews, there are small cafes on the beaches of Partenit and there are no annoying food vendors. The infrastructure is good. The clear sea, amazing nature and many attractions - all this attracts tourists and makes them come back here again. The weather here is very warm; in summer the sea warms up to 24 degrees. Majestic mountains and green hills not only give the village a picturesque appearance, but also protect it from strong gusts of wind, and coniferous trees make the air clean and healthy.

Partenit resort on the map

Partenit is divided into two districts - Upper and Lower, in their territories there are shops, various cafes and restaurants, hotels, parks, etc. And now more about the resort.

Beaches of Partenit

Beach near the Europe Hotel

It is worth noting that most beaches, with the exception of Central, belong to hotels and sanatoriums. They can be visited by both guests of the resort institution and anyone interested.

The best in the resort village are:

The beach cover is small pebbles, the water here is crystal clear. If you wish, you can buy a ticket and walk through the beautiful park.

  • "Aivazovskoe". Aivazovskoye includes as many as four beaches. There are free plots. There are changing rooms, showers and toilets on their premises. You can also rent sun loungers and more. “Paid” options provide more opportunities for vacationers - a landscaped area, a lot of entertainment, and you will also have the opportunity to stroll through the Paradise Park and enjoy the beauty of the landscape design.
  • "Tavrida-Azot". Tavrida-Azot is the largest pebble beach of Partenit, located on the territory of the recreation center of the same name. For the convenience of vacationers, there are canopies and sun loungers. All kinds of entertainment are also provided - riding catamarans, banana boats and scooters. Pros and cons of holidays in Partenit

The untouched nature of Mount Ayu-Dag

What are the main advantages of the resort?

Briefly about the advantages of Parthenite:

  • good location;
  • beautiful nature, green hills and mountain landscapes;
  • the climate is very warm and mild; even in September the temperature remains comfortable here (about +21 degrees). This fact allows you to relax at any time of the year;
  • the beach covering is smooth pebbles, it is comfortable to walk on it even without special shoes;
  • the resort has paid beaches with a varied range of entertainment and developed infrastructure, as well as with views of Bear Mountain;

Metochion of the monastery of St. martyrs Cosmas and Damian. The bell tower offers an excellent view of the Partenit

Now let's move on to the cons:

  • If you are planning a vacation in July or August, you should think about housing in advance. The resort is very popular during the high season and therefore during this period it will not be easy to find a place to stay, and the prices for accommodation are much higher;
  • Sometimes tourists don’t like the fact that on wild beaches there are no changing cabins or containers with fresh water for rinsing. If you wish, you can pay for entrance to the paid beach and use all the amenities;
  • At times, interruptions in water supply may occur in the village.

To summarize, we can see that there are many more pros than cons. Partenit is a wonderful resort, and you will have a great rest here.

We wish you a pleasant stay!

When is the best time to go?

The resort's sanatoriums serve tourists all year round. The beach season lasts from late May to mid-October. According to reviews from vacationers, the sea in Partenit is well warmed up for swimming from July to September. During these months the weather is moderately hot and there is little rain.

beauty know: “Nature looks beautiful at any time of the year. In summer it is bright and juicy. In winter everything is dull and resting. In spring it begins to bloom. And autumn, my favorite season, is full of fog, colorful leaves, and coolness.”

  • Holidays in Crimea in summer
  • When is the best time to vacation in Crimea?

Where is

Partenit is located on the South Coast, 15 km from Alushta and belongs to the Alushta urban district. Look at the Map of Crimean resorts.

Partenite is located in a convenient valley, and its boundaries are expressed by the Ayu-Dag mountain ranges, cliffs, green hills and capes.

From Alushta, Partenit is supported by the resort village of Utes, and behind Mount Bear stands guard the magnificent Gurzuf

  • Simferopol Airport – 80 km
  • Crimean Bridge – 265 km
  • Sevastopol – 110 km
  • Yalta – 25 km
  • Sudak – 100 km

What's next?

Further along the coast to the village of Maly Mayak there is a series of sanatorium, wild, and private beaches.

Next to Partenit there is a cozy resort town called Utes with a sanatorium of the same name and the palace of Princess Gagarina, then there are small landscaped areas of coastal hotels and boathouses, and then wild beaches stretch to the village of Maly Mayak.

Walking and relaxing in such places will appeal to both savages and nudists, because there is somewhere to hide from view or, conversely, not to pay attention to the few tourists.

Bear Mountain Beaches

A unique mountain divide between Parentit and Gurzuf is the famous Bear Mountain. It turns out that here you can not only climb in search of medieval ruins, turn your head on a steep descent and find a godforsaken place of power, but also swim.

There are several secluded beaches at the nose of the mountain.

Topographically, the bay is called Panair, and in the language of the average person, Big Beach, Small Beach and Raevsky Beach. There are also wonderful grottoes where you can go by kayak or small boat.

Kamikazes descend to the Big Beach along a mountain path. A cowardly but prudent man in the street will call for help in the form of a boat or a wife with an oar.

Once you have mastered the art of kayaking, you will be able to find all 3 beaches and create your own rating. Don't forget a Panama hat, a bottle of water and a good mood.

You can rent a kayak or boat at the piers of the Crimea sanatorium or from these guys.

Partenit – what to see and where to go for tourists

A famous landmark is another palace on the territory of Partenit, called Gagarina’s Palace.

The history of its construction is very interesting. Back in the 19th century, the middle-aged Count Governor Gagarin married the young Princess Tasso, who came from an ancient but impoverished family. What is surprising for those times is that the marriage took place out of great love.

But after 3 years, the man dies in a duel, and the widow grieves her loss. Then her relatives send her to unwind in Crimea, to the estate of her late husband. Here she quickly comes to her senses and takes control of affairs and the household into her own hands.

She has a dream - to build a beautiful palace in honor of her husband, but almost all the money goes to charity. And on the day of the 70th anniversary, one of the guests donates money for construction, which began in 1902 and continued until 1907. 6 months after its completion, the Countess dies.

Now the palace, reminiscent of a medieval castle, is the Utes sanatorium, and there is no entrance there. But it is quite possible to take a walk in the adjacent park.

Private sector

Represented by mini-hotels, guest houses and even apartments. Yes, the village has apartment buildings with kitchens, bathrooms and entrances.

The big negative that awaits all private owners of Partenit in 2021 is the lack of beaches!

Both sanatoriums have closed their territories to strangers and you have a choice of a mini-beach near Mount Medvezhonok (they will trample in the summer) and a good equipped beach in the area of the Europe Hotel.

But we still have to get there! Walking from the bus station is 2.5 km or about 40 minutes in the heat!

If this doesn’t scare you, then there is quite a lot of housing here. If you haven’t found it on the Internet, there are advertisements and local realtors at the bus station.

Please note that the area is mountainous and from the bus station there is a rather steep uphill climb to the Aivazovskoye sanatorium. It is better for mothers with strollers and non-athletes to look for housing in the area of the Crimea sanatorium.

A good option is the Flamingo and Partenit hotels. Cheap, but with amenities at a distance at the Western Guest House. So choose your own housing according to your income.

By the way, many private owners rent out housing for at least 3 days. Please take this into account.

Beaches of Karasan

In general, this is a good map; there are paid and free areas. But the sea has eaten up most of the lying space near the beaches.

The shoreline is pebble, not too wide, and in some places even narrow. There are rocky areas. There are canopies on the beaches. Umbrellas and sun loungers can be rented.

On the embankment itself there is one cafe and retail outlets.

Well, don’t forget to look into the wonderful Karasan Park Museum . For now you can still get there from the embankment. I wrote more about it here.

Shops and restaurants

The main market is located in the center, on Solnechnaya Street. The range of goods is extensive, from food to souvenirs and household items.

Nearby there is a decent supermarket “ Yabloko ”. Another large grocery store “ Neighbor ” is located opposite the entrance to the Aivazovskoye sanatorium.

The 2nd center of attraction is the bus station area and a small shopping alley up along the stream. Partenit also has its own clinic and pharmacy, beauty salons, and bank branches.

Most of the catering establishments are located in the lower part of Partenit . But along the way there are shops with pizza and pasties, kiosks with drinks and sweets.

The right restaurant in Partenit is “ Sunflowers ”: delicious dishes, good service, live music in the evenings. But the prices are also not inferior to the quality. Cheaper and tasty in the Home Kitchen . Located 2 steps from the restaurant around the corner across from Resort Goods.

You can have a normal and inexpensive meal on the way to the city beach at the Citadel . If you're in the market area, stop by to see what Alina's has . Home cooking and prices are not bad.

If you need a barbecue, you can try your luck at the Ayu-Dag . Everything seems to be fine, but it doesn’t change from year to year. We need to test it.

Well, no one has canceled children’s favorite pizza and hamburgers. For this business, definitely go to the Picanto pizzeria opposite the entrance to Aivazovskoye. By the way, they also have delivery, if that happens.

Natural attractions

Turquoise Lake

Address: Zaprudnoye village How to get there:

  • from Yalta: by minibus No. 110 to the “Zaprudnoye” stop, then on foot;
  • from Alushta: by minibus No. 103 to the “Zaprudnoye” stop, then on foot;
  • You can get from Partenit by car or taxi.

Turquoise Lake is located at an altitude of 610 m above sea level. It is distinguished by clear turquoise water. The lake is surrounded by a forest that comes almost close to the water. From the side of the lake the eastern slope of Ayu-Dag is visible.

Geologists claim that in ancient times the territory of the lake and the settlement was occupied by the ancient Tethys Ocean, which was eventually replaced by land. In Soviet times, a quarry was dug on the site of the lake to extract limestone. But during the work, a stream of water burst out of the ground and flooded the quarry.

There is a legend that Turquoise Lake has magical powers. They say that its waters can remove the “crown of celibacy”, replenish vitality, remove damage, relieve depression and fatigue.

There is an official tourist stop “Turquoise Lake” on the territory. It is equipped with benches, tables, barbecues, and places for making fires. Please note that you cannot make a fire near the lake or in other unauthorized places!

Scorpions and karakurt spiders live in the area near the lake. They are not dangerous in summer, but in autumn and spring they are poisonous and active (they rarely attack people). Therefore, if you are planning to visit the lake during one of these periods, take a first aid kit just in case.

Cape Kuchuk-Ayu (“Bear Cub”)

Cape Kuchuk-Ayu, which is also often called “bear cub”, is a small rock of volcanic origin, which is located in the Partenite. It has the shape of a rounded dome and rises above the sea by only 16 meters.

In medieval times, there was a Genoese tower on the cape, which served as a lighthouse and defensive structure. The tower controlled the entrance to the Partenite and Lambat bays. The tower has not survived to the present day, but steps carved into the rock remain, leading to the tower platform.

If you have not yet chosen where you will live and want to save money when booking, we recommend using the RoomGuru service. Firstly, it contains hotels, apartments and guest houses from many different booking systems, so you won’t miss out on a worthwhile option. Secondly, you can immediately compare prices for one place in different services and book where it is cheaper (this is not always Booking!).

Aivazovsky gives the go-ahead!

The administration of the picturesque park of the South Coast “Aivazovskoe” , without deliberating for long, charged 1,200 rubles for the entrance ticket to the park. The Tsar Nikitsky Botanical Garden, with its 300 rubles for entry, looks like a child.

Plus, due to the pandemic, the sanatorium periodically limits visits to the park.

Now, to get to the beaches of the sanatorium, you either have to pay and walk along the shady alleys. Or look for the loophole that the extortionists left for greedy and persistent visitors.

The administration has allocated beach cards 5 and 6 for hungry people who do not want to pay 600 rubles for entry. But you can get to them not through the front gate, but from the back entrance.

The “back entrance” is located on the embankment in front of the Europe Hotel and consists of a gate like this. It's a 1 km detour, but fortunately, during the season, a minibus runs here from the Partenita bus station (Yuzhny cinema).

Until August 2021, local residents were also sent to the lower gate (just above the tourist gate). But thanks to the intervention of the authorities and higher powers, the truth triumphed.

Now local residents, like white people, upon presentation of a passport with Partenite registration, paid bills for water and electricity and a password to the beach can pass through the upper entrance.

Beaches of the sanatorium with a wide pebble shoreline, awnings, changing rooms, showers and equipment rental. There is also a rescue point, a toilet, and trash cans installed.

Unfortunately, there is no entertainment provided. And there are not many people here, in general, silence is beauty.

The private beaches of the sanatorium itself cannot cause any complaints. To use them you will have to pay 5,000 rubles per room out of season. But, as you like, everything is included!

Public transport

The village is quite large and has difficult terrain, so there is transport here:

  • buses to neighboring Yalta, Alushta, Maly Mayak
  • local minibus No. 1 and No. 1a (only in season)

Buses run on a schedule that depends on the season. Details can be found on this website, and all changes can be found on the board next to the bus station.

  • To Alushta (No. 109, 25) buses go to the square. Soviet with and without a stop at Maly Mayak. The fare is 25 rubles.
  • To Yalta (No. 381) goes to the bus station. The fare is 40 rubles.

Please note that during the season the buses cannot cope with the load of tourists. And God forbid it’s a rainy day and everyone is eager to go to Yalta for a walk. What to do? Route No. 1 comes to the rescue, which goes to the highway.

  • No. 1 - carries people around Partenit and gets to the highway. On the highway you can take any passing bus towards Alushta or Yalta.
  • No. 1a - travels from the Winner area through the highway to the city beaches in the area of the Europe Hotel.

They run daily from 7.00 to 19.00. The fare is 17 rubles.

General information about Partenite

Partenit is more of a climatic resort than an entertainment resort. Immersed in the greenery of wild forests and cultural park recreation areas, the village has good health resorts and boarding houses.

The name Partenit comes from the Greek “maiden”, “maiden” and according to legend, on one of the slopes of the mountains there was a temple of the goddess Virgo .

Since ancient times, there were settlements here, whose inhabitants were engaged in agriculture, fishing, and trade. Until the Soviet era, Partenit did not develop as a resort and was a small village.

The Raevsky family made a great contribution to the development of fruit and garden farming in the village . The general's sons, in turn, each at one time, were engaged in the cultivation of rare plants, vineyards and wine production.

In the vicinity of Partenit there were estates and estates of the Winners and Gagarins.

At the end of the war, sanatoriums began to be built in Partenit, mainly for the military, and the village was renamed Frunzenskoye. Titov and Leonov , marshals Rokossovsky, Zhukov, Konev rested in the sanatoriums of the USSR Ministry of Defense "Frunzenskoye" and "Crimea" .

In 1991, the village was returned to its original name.

Beach of the recreation center "Tavrida-Azot"

The largest of all Partenit beaches. It is located closer to Cape Plaka, the area is well-groomed, there is a large public canopy, and sun loungers are available for rent. Guests of the sanatorium often relax here, but anyone can visit this beach. The infrastructure is not very well developed, there is a recently restored embankment, several boutiques and cafes. The beach is well suited for those who are accustomed to a comfortable location. You don’t have to run to the sea in the morning to visit this beach.

Sanatoriums and hotels

There are 2 excellent sanatoriums in Partenit, which share almost the entire beach line of the village between them:

  • Aivazovskoye is a luxurious sanatorium with its own incredible park, beach area, spa and swimming pools. Considering that the seasonal price for visiting the park is 1200 rubles (!!), it would not be bad to live here for at least a few days.
  • Crimea is a coastal sanatorium in Moscow Region, which also has a large (but rather simple) park, a dolphinarium, and its own beaches. Here the number of rooms is more tired, but the medical facilities are better.

There are also 3 hotels of a fairly high level. See accommodation prices here.

  1. Europe - 4* all-inclusive hotel with its own beach and other amenities for an unforgettable vacation. Located between Paradise Park and the Karasan estate right on the embankment. Prices are high.
  2. Nord is not a bad 3* hotel with everything you need for a carefree holiday: swimming pool, hammam, food, parking, but in the basic version. Considering the prices, it's ok. 2 big disadvantages - soundproofing and no territory. But 2 steps from the bus station and the beach.
  3. Majestic is a direct competitor to Nord in the same price category. What is the difference? The hotel itself is nice with its own outdoor pool. But the walk to the beach is 1 km.

How to get to Partenit

  • You can order a transfer from the airport online
  • You can get there on a budget by public transport. Most likely you will have to travel with one transfer. There are buses, but trolleybus No. 52 runs more often to Yalta. He makes a stop on the highway, where he will need to change to bus No. 109, which goes down to the beach (it’s a long walk). You can also take trolleybus 51 to Alushta and transfer there. Climate and weather

The subtropical climate of Partenite is an excellent healing factor for pulmonary diseases and long-term rest. The valley, closed on three sides by mountain slopes, retains heat and humidity well, not allowing cold air currents to pass through.

  1. In summer it is quite hot here, especially in August, but already in September the summer heat subsides. In winter it is quite windy and rainy.
  2. The rainiest month is June. May is not far behind it. But in autumn, on the contrary, there is almost no precipitation.
  3. The sea water warms up only in June and maintains a comfortable temperature until the end of September.

The house-museum of brownies in Partenit is the only exhibition complex of its kind. The literary and art museum “House of Brownies” was founded in 2009 at the creative workshop of wood sculptors. The museum's collection includes about 400 original works.

Legend has it that once upon a time there lived a brownie in an art workshop who was an indispensable assistant. When the masters went to bed, brownies from all over the area gathered in the workshop and completed the works of the authors. The number of orders from the masters grew, and clients from all over the world began to flock to them. Some clients began to take brownies into their homes, which is why there were much fewer of them. The brownie, who lived in the workshop, very soon became sad and lonely without his friends. Then the owners of the workshop decided to create many brownies and open a museum where guests would come.

Each brownie presented in the museum is made by hand. To create characters, only high-quality and valuable wood species are used (various types of cedar, cypress). For craftsmen, every brownie is not just a museum exhibit. The sculptures are inhabited by invisible spirits who wait and choose partners with whom they will go to their homes.

It is interesting that interesting situations related to brownies happened to some people who visited the museum. The masters want to collect as many of these stories as possible and combine them into a book, which will be called “From the Life of Brownies.”

Museum of Stone (Museum of Natural Beauty and Antiquities)

Address: st. Solnechnaya, 6A Opening hours: 12.00-20.00 Mon-Sun (only in summer) Ticket price: about 100 rubles Website: https://www.partenit.ru/museum.shtml

The Stone Museum was created by the private Partenite collector Alexander Kulesh. Initially, collecting was just a hobby for him. He collected rock samples, fossils of prehistoric animals, and other interesting geological specimens. All exhibits were kept at the collector's home.

Alexander Kulish says: “Whoever saw my miniatures for the first time asked me where and what I painted there by hand. The fact of the matter is that I didn’t finish anything. This is the value of my collection.”

The starting point for the creation of the museum was an ordinary accident. One day, while working, Alexander Kulish cut a stone and on the internal cut he discovered a slightly blurry landscape, the contours of which resembled mountains, trees and lakes. This greatly amazed the collector. He came up with the idea of finding such unique stones and revealing their “soul.”

The collection grew and soon no longer fit in Kulish’s house and moved to a separate building. This is how the Parthenite Stone Museum arose.

The museum's exposition is replenished almost every month; at the moment, it has long passed the 4,500-piece mark.

Karasan Palace

Address: Utes village, territory of the Karasan sanatorium How to get there:

  • Go through on your own. But it is worth considering that free access to the territory of the sanatorium may be closed. You can try to negotiate on the spot with security for a fee.
  • Buy an excursion “Noble estates of Kuchuk-Lambata”.

The Karasan Palace, or the Raevsky estate, is a beautiful building made in the Iranian, or Moorish, style with elements of classicism and baroque.

The lands where the sanatorium is now located belonged to General Nikolai Raevsky and his wife Anna Borozdina. On their initiative, a house, vineyards and an orchard were created there.

In 1885, Raevsky’s son decided to build a large estate on the site of the old house. The Raevskys loved their old house very much, so it was decided to create a palace in the same style as their old house. The project was carried out by the world-famous architect Karl Aeschliman. He brought several new details to the project, all of which the family liked. Construction of the palace lasted from 1885 to 1887. This is how the Karasan Palace was born, which you can see on the territory of the sanatorium. The Karasan estate was in the family's possession until the 1917 revolution.

The modern Karasan Palace is a three-story building that houses the administrative building of the sanatorium. The exterior of the building is very memorable: terraces, turrets, balconies, bas-reliefs, marble decoration, a large number of large windows, neat openwork arches, columns.

Inside, no furniture, paintings or other decorative elements have been preserved from those times. The Karasan Garden is interesting. The landscape gardening ensemble is made in the English style; the best gardeners worked on its design, and recommendations for arranging the garden were given by the directors of botanical gardens in St. Petersburg and Crimea.

Currently, the garden contains about 200 species of local and exotic plants. On the territory of the park there are several fountains (preserved from the time of the Raevskys), cascading stairs, ponds, green labyrinths, walking alleys and entire groves.

Palace of Princess Gagarina

Address: Utes village, territory of the sanatorium “Utes” (5 Princess Gagarina St.) Opening hours: 08.00-23.00 Mon-Sun (depending on the sanatorium’s opening hours) Cost: entrance to the sanatorium costs 150 rubles (but you won’t be able to get into the palace itself , since the sanatorium is operational) Phone number: (sanatorium information service)

The palace was erected at the beginning of the 20th century by order of princess of Georgian origin Anastasia Orbeliani-Gagarin, who was the widow of Lieutenant General Prince Alexander Gagarin. It was built next to the picturesque Cape Plaka, next to which is the Karasan Palace.

The palace is made in the Romanesque style with Gothic and Art Nouveau elements. It is decorated with turrets, narrow loophole windows and stonework.

The architect Nikolai Krasnov designed and supervised the construction of the palace.

Above the main entrance to the palace you can see the family coat of arms of the Gagarin princes and an inscription in Latin, which translates as “In ancient times, strength.”

At the time of construction of the palace, Anastasia Gagarina was 70 years old. She didn’t even have time to live in it, since she died the same year when the work was completed.

Now the palace building houses the administrative building of the Utes sanatorium. Guests of the sanatorium can only view Gagarina’s palace from the outside and walk around the park. The park has a large observation deck offering beautiful views of Cape Plaka and the sea.

How to navigate the resort

Many tourists call it a town, but it is just a village with a population of about 6,000 people. There are lower and upper areas of Partenit, with their own infrastructure and accommodation facilities.

  1. The bus station is the center of the village. From here the sea is just a stone's throw away, and the most popular cafes and shops are at your fingertips.
  2. The most tourist and lively areas are the market and Ayvazovka .
  3. The Wiener region remains remote from the sea and boring for tourists . But for those who don’t like resort noise and don’t mind walking, this area is also suitable.

The center of life for city residents is the street. Solnechnaya in the area of the Food Market ( red circle ). There are shops, the market itself, cosmetics, a hairdresser - everything you need for life.

A little higher at the intersection of the street. Frunzeskaya and st. Vasilyevskaya Aivazovka ( green ) is another oasis of civilization. Parking, shop, cafe and entrance to the park of the Aivazovskoye sanatorium.

But, still, the tourist center of Partenit is the bus station area and the gate to the Crimea sanatorium ( green circle below).

From there I will present you with a panorama for orientation on the spot:
