Residents of Stavropol are a little luckier in this regard than in other cities of our vast Motherland. Well, really, imagine the headline: “The most romantic places in Norilsk” or “Date in Magadan.” And our city is warm and luminous even in February. The weather, of course, is unpredictable, but our people are also inventive, ready for a variety of options.
On the eve of Valentine's Day, we asked young and experienced Stavropol residents about their favorite places and ways to celebrate February 14th. The list is far from exhaustive, but if you're new to the city or want to try something new, you might find it useful.
Warm format
At the moment when this text is being written, the weather outside is disgusting. And February 14 can be anything - Stavropol is an unpredictable city in this regard. But if it is not conducive to walking, then the most obvious option is coffee shops! Fortunately, over the past few years, about a hundred of them have appeared in the regional center. Large and small, expensive and not very expensive, pretentious and democratic - for every taste and budget.
In order not to advertise to anyone, we will keep our preferences to ourselves. But if you want to treat your potential or existing soulmate to delicious coffee and cake, then you should focus on establishments located in the center. Firstly, there are usually more seats and in general they are more suitable for spending several hours inside than for dropping in for five minutes on the way to work. Secondly, it would be great to walk out the doors of the coffee shop and not immediately find yourself in the hustle and bustle of a residential area.
Pedestrian format - traditional
It’s not for nothing that Stavropol time after time becomes the most comfortable city - and obviously not thanks to Tashla, Mamaika or Perspektivny. Whatever one may say, our center is very beautiful. Every year something new is done - either they will put up a bench for lovers, or some kind of art object, or they will create beautiful lighting, or even, like last year, they will turn an entire block into a walking paradise. Stavropol was created for people to walk around.
Unfortunately, the incredibly beautiful New Year's decorations have already been removed from Lenin Square, but there are plenty of places for a leisurely walk and a pleasant conversation. There are traditional places - Victory Park and Central Park (of course, with a visit to the Ferris wheel, which offers an amazing view), the square near the "Soldier", Ermolov Boulevard, October Revolution Avenue. Now the 53rd quarter has been added to them. Don't forget to charge your smartphone: you'll definitely want to take a few pictures for memory. And if you get cold, again, we have enough establishments.
Pedestrian format - secluded
If you want to be outside, but not in a crowd, then this is easy to arrange. In the same Victory Park, moving a little away from the Central Alley, you can enjoy a walk, not overshadowed by crowds. And if you try a little and get to the Komsomolsky Pond, you’ll hardly come across anyone except rare athletes. By the way, this may be your last chance to remember him exactly like this: a little neglected and quiet. More likely,
Already this year, a large-scale reconstruction is coming under the project of Strelka Design Bureau, after which the pond and the surrounding area will become an ultra-modern public space accessible to everyone. There will definitely be more people there.
Apparently, something similar awaits the last streets of old Stavropol - crooked, narrow, sometimes with half-abandoned houses. Give them a good walk before it's too late! One of these little-known places is International Lane, which starts from the street. Bulkina and goes downstairs. If you wish, this is how you can get to Komsomolsky Pond. Today this is one of the last places in the regional center where historical paving has been preserved, and in some places the illusion is created that you are in the distant past.

Of course, this is not for everyone. But many of our young respondents said that the most romantic places in Stavropol are the ruins of ancient buildings and... cemeteries! Now, of course, there are almost none left. The famous “haunted house” on Komsomolskaya is being reconstructed, and only the outer walls remain.
But the Assumption Cemetery in the Circus area is the oldest surviving cemetery in the city and has recently been relatively landscaped and quite accessible. If you are attracted by the idea of walking between stone sarcophagi with pre-revolutionary inscriptions in the shade of centuries-old oak trees, then why not? Just be respectful of this place and the memory of those who rest there.

Again, the weather, the availability of transport and personal preferences determine everything here. But Stavropol is one of the few cities in the country whose surroundings are beautiful at any time of the year.
Go to Besputskaya Polyana and look at the Sengileevskoye Reservoir from above. Or go down from the Grushevoy farm and see a sky thick with stars with a bold stripe of the Milky Way. Or - where without it - the German Bridge - a century-old gigantic structure of the long-defunct Tuapse railway. By the way, there are several such bridges. They stretch along the remains of the embankment towards Armavir and each is unique in its own way.
Well, if you prefer a “civilized” format, then there are several country restaurants at your service that combine privacy and a very good level of service. True, with a corresponding price tag.

February is not the best month for skydiving, paragliding or hot air ballooning and other “summer” joys, which for many Stavropol residents are associated with the most romantic moments in their lives. But the skating rink in the repeatedly mentioned Victory Park is just right. Of course, it will be better if February 14 is not your first time on it: having a minimum of skating skills will significantly improve your date.
However, you can come up with something less traditional. For example, go to a trampoline park. Or even to the recently opened climbing wall on Tuapsinka. You can visit the restaurant on the territory of the brewery, which has been operating since the century before last. Or a brewery famous halfway across the country. Or one of the many newfangled craft bars. Each of them has its own drinks and its own atmosphere.
Of course, you shouldn’t overuse this thing, and beer is a drink that doesn’t seem particularly romantic. But maybe that's why it's worth trying to see it from the other side. Immerse yourself in a special atmosphere and experience the unique taste of the Stavropol drink, so different from what is sold in stores.

Memorial of Eternal Glory
This memorial place is dedicated to the heroes of the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars.
