A lovely natural attraction on the shore of Arkhipo-Osipovka is Mount Hedgehog. Outwardly, it resembles this forest animal - cream-colored rocks form its muzzle, and the dense forest serves as needles.
The peak is located on the Black Sea coast in Vulan Bay, named after the river that flows here.
The height of Mount Hedgehog in Arkhipo-Osipovka is only 245 m in the central part.
From the east it is limited by the beach, on the other side of which there is another ridge - the Camel. It does not look very much like the animal it is named after, so it is not so popular among tourists. The Teshebs River flows through the mountain from the north and west. Its length is about 13 km. At the foot it flows into the sea. On the eastern part of the mountain there is the Derkachev Gap.

How to climb Mount Hedgehog
Finding the path on Mount Hedgehog is not difficult - along the Arkhipo-Osipovka embankment you need to go to the left if you are facing the sea. The path continues until the tourist sees the Teshebs River. You can cross it by crossing the bridge - it is located about 100 m to the left, or simply along the seashore. Sometimes in the summer the river dries out so much that you can immediately step over it. This is where the main path upward begins. Usually it takes no more than 1 hour.
Even children can cope with the climb to Mount Hedgehog. It is only important to choose the right shoes: you cannot even go out on this route in beach flip-flops and sandals. The ascent and descent are quite steep, your feet will slip, and you can get seriously injured. You need to wear light sneakers with non-slip soles.

You shouldn't leave the well-trodden road. This path goes along a rocky gutter. It is tested and safe. After a sharp climb, you can walk over the cliff along the beach and reach Cape Left.
The first observation deck is located at an altitude of 45 m. More beautiful views open from the second, which is 67 m high. It is more popular among tourists - the most beautiful photographs are taken here, and the coast and harbor are clearly visible. If you look in the other direction, you can see residential buildings and hotels, as well as other mountain peaks.
From the observation deck the road goes towards Dzhubga. From here you can see the endless sea, the water of which is azure blue.
It’s not difficult to climb to the highest point of the mountain at 245 m, but you won’t be able to see anything: dense forest and bushes grow around. You can come here just for yourself.

What a sea in the village of Dzhubga
Dzhubga is a picturesque Black Sea resort with a mild Mediterranean climate. It is located in one of the picturesque bays of the Black Sea. Of particular interest to vacationers is the sea in Dzhubga. In terms of cleanliness and picturesqueness, it is in no way inferior to other resorts on the Black Sea coast. During the tourist season the sea is warm and calm.
Dzhubga - beach strip
Storms and active precipitation in the summer are very rare. Usually nothing prevents vacationers from enjoying warm and clean water. Minor sea disturbances in Dzhubga begin in September. Sometimes this can be dangerous for swimming. However, September is officially considered a suitable month for a beach holiday.
For vacationers, it is no less important whether the sea is blooming in Dzhubga. Unlike Anapa and its environs, this problem is not typical for Dzhubga. Most of the coastal areas have a rocky bottom. In addition, in the waters of Dzhubga there are no algae that provoke the flowering process.
Beach
Near Mount Hedgehog there is the Central Beach. It occupies most of the shore of Arkhipo-Osipovka. It offers the most beautiful view of the mountain and makes for excellent photographs.
The beach is pebble and sand. There are canopies for shade, sun loungers and umbrellas. Amenities include showers and toilets, as well as drinking fountains. Things can be left in the storage room. Travel accessories are offered by rental shops.
The entry into the sea is gentle, the bottom is sandy. To make it convenient to approach the water, there are wooden decks on the beach. This way, guests won’t have to walk on hot sand during the high season.

Dolmen in Dzhubga
Coordinates: 44.313974, 38.694903 Address: st. Cooperative, 9
The dolmen is a megalithic structure made of stone slabs, one of the largest in the Caucasus region, dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. It attracts tourists with its size: height - 2.5 m, length - 4 meters. There is a hole in the center.
The area of the fenced area is 2.5 by 5 meters. According to scientists, this place was used for funeral ceremonies or communication with the spirits of the dead.
In the courtyard of the building, ancient drawings made by primitive man were scraped out on slabs.
Museum of Forest Follies
Address: Chernomorskaya str., 8 Opening hours: 10:00-17:00 Cost: 50 rubles, children under 7 years old - free
The museum was founded by a woodcarver, Anton Mikhailovich Gzhelak, who left a rich collection of exhibits.
The museum is “guarded” by an eight-meter dinosaur made of wood. There are only two exhibition halls: one of them displays the things of A.M. Grzhelak, the other - wooden figurines made by him and his followers. In total, the collection includes about 1.5 thousand exhibits, differing in shape and size: birds, animals, plants, human figures and fantastic creatures.
The main feature of the works is that the author preserved the shape of driftwood and tree roots, making only minor adjustments.
Lighthouse
Address: Mayak station Opening hours: 24 hours Cost: free
The Dzhubga lighthouse was installed in 1898, located 30 meters above the Black Sea level, visibility is 15 miles.
A stone tower was built in 1954; now the lighthouse rises above the first floor of the building. The lighthouse is equipped with a bell, which was used for ships in foggy weather.

“Eagle Rock” is the name given to the tourist complex located on the territory of the village of Lermontov. The most convenient way to get there is as part of an excursion group. The route is designed for one day.

Also part of the excursion is a visit to the zoo, which is home to bears, foxes, wolves, raccoons and other animals. Children will enjoy the water slides and bungee jumping.
Dolphinarium "Nemo"
We continue to talk about the sights and entertainment in Dzhubga. Dolphinarium "Nemo" is a place that is also very popular among tourists. Visitors will be able to enjoy performances by dolphins, fur seals and lions. Experienced trainers make sure that every show turns into a real holiday.
It’s worth visiting the Nemo Dolphinarium not only for the concert program. Everyone has the opportunity to swim with dolphins and take pictures with them. Dolphin therapy sessions are also held.
Inal Bay
Inal Bay is located approximately 10 km from Dzhubga. This place is very popular among travelers. This is primarily due to the purity and transparency of sea water. Numerous beaches of the bay are covered with small pebbles.
Right in the middle of the bay there is a small lake with healing clay. It is believed that baths from it rejuvenate and contribute to the health of the body. Clay has a positive effect on blood circulation and cleanses the skin. Anyone can swim in the lake. You cannot drown in it, as the mud pushes the body to the surface. Many local residents bring their children here to teach them how to swim.

Gelendzhik - Vozrozhdenie village
We didn’t stay in Novorossiysk; we walked from the railway station to the bus station. We bought tickets to Gelendzhik and left an hour later. There were big traffic jams along the way, it took probably 2 hours.
We didn’t stay much in Gelendzhik either. We decided to leave it for later, and our first goal was the village of Vozrozhdenie, which is 10-12 km from Gelendzhik. I was here a year ago at the Ascension festival, you can see the photo report that didn’t take place.
Ehh, how can it be here...! See photo
We lived here for 4 days in a tent. And for the remaining 8 days we also spent the night in a tent, of course.
By the way, during our entire trip it never rained (I don’t even know if it was for the better or not). It was very warm at night, if we had the gift of predicting the future, we would not have taken sleeping bags
Here is our kitchen:
We cook compote, which a little later the rat ate. Or a raccoon:
Our house:
We chose the place very well - no people came, the mountain river was 30 meters away. The nearest store was an hour away. There were almost no mosquitoes.
But other guests of the forest visited us, probably every night. On the first night I woke up and almost immediately heard something (or someone) crash into the tent at full speed. I open the mosquito net and candle with a flashlight and see a large rat. We said hello. She ran into the forest to run errands, and I went to bed, without any “adventures” until the morning.
Advice for the future (in turn, a friend advised me this before my trip): hide the food in your backpack, having previously closed it in a plastic bag or container - animals have a keen sense of smell, if, for example, some rat smells what you left an open pack of crackers in your tent, and you won’t be at home near your tent, then a rat can easily make a hole in your tent. But the ventilation will improve - look for advantages everywhere
Another night we scared someone away and heard IT walking away from our tent. I shined a flashlight, but I couldn’t see anyone. According to our assumptions, it could still be the same big rat, but in my opinion, it was a larger animal - a badger or a raccoon.
My girlfriend and I walked along the Zhane River from the beginning of the Sunny Glade (who has been to the festivals here knows) to, practically, the Cup of Love. Here it is, by the way:
And here is this mini-route along the river (it is very shallow now). You can walk without getting your feet wet.
Our route is marked in red:
Look at some successful pictures we managed to take on the river:
Separately, I would like to show these pictures:
There's no Photoshop or a leaf hanging from a string or anything like that. But there is a leaf and a thin, thin web. It is visible only in the original photos when enlarged. These are the kinds of photographs nature allows you to take!
But no matter how good it is, you always want variety, right? So we got up early in the morning, washed, got ready and set off on our little journey.
Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
What to see in Dzhubga for those interested in religious buildings? The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the 90s. This building took the place of a 19th century church, which could no longer be restored.
The temple is a brick building, which is shaped like a quadrangle. The facade, covered with white paint, looks very modest, devoid of flashy decorations. The porch is made in the form of a portico with supporting columns. The domes of the church are topped with cone-shaped blue towers.
Dolmen
Dolmens are ancient religious and funeral structures made of large stones. The Dzhubga dolmen is perhaps the main attraction of this area. This is the most cumbersome structure of this type in the Caucasus.
The dolmen is made of large slabs and looks like an enclosed courtyard. Researchers believe that this building dates back to the third century BC. Unfortunately, it was not possible to unravel the purpose of the dolmen.
