Story

It was founded near the ancient village of Milovskoye, which until 1918 was the volost center of the Shuisky district of the Vladimir province. According to statistical data from the mid-19th century. in the village there are 40 households, population – 292 people. living; Orthodox Church of the Nativity of Christ, founded in 1771 (St. Petersburg: 1863) [22].

The emergence of the city of Komsomolsk is associated with the construction of the Ivanovo State District Power Plant, which began in the summer of 1927, in accordance with the GOELRO plan and the Resolution of the Council of Labor and Defense of the USSR adopted on May 6, 1927 on the construction of the Ivanovo-Voznesensk regional power station with a capacity of 40 thousand kilowatts, operating on local peat. In the same year, the first builders arrived at the construction site. The builders of the IvGRES were boys and girls who were members of the Komsomol youth organization [22] - the construction was declared “Komsomol” and gave the name to the workers’ settlement “Komsomolsky”, and then to the city of Komsomolsk. In May 1928, the foundation stone for the main building of the power plant took place. [23].

In 1930, the main power plant building was erected near the village of Milovskoye. On October 5, 1930, the first small turbogenerator was put into operation for the station’s own needs. This date is the beginning of the operation of the IvGRES station and the village of power engineers[24].

On January 26, 1931, the plenum of the village Construction Council of IvGRES considered the issue of the name of the village, and it was unanimously decided to name the village Komsomolsk

. The birth of a new village, named after the Komsomol, was legislated by a decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of November 20, 1931. Over time, the settlement of power engineers merged with the settlement of railway workers. On August 28, 1950, the working village of Komsomolsk was transformed into a city of district subordination by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR[24].

The central square of Komsomolsk will be paved in an unusual way

In Komsomolsk, work is actively underway to improve the city. This year the central square and children's park will be landscaped. They are located close to each other, and due to the road fund, these territories will be connected by convenient sidewalks.

The territory improvement projects themselves were adjusted in accordance with the wishes of residents. Thus, at the request of the townspeople, the central square was designed to be more spacious, the green area was reduced, and the area for quiet recreation was reduced. The highlight of the square will be the unusual paving - symbols of Komsomolsk, the city of victorious energy, will be laid out here. Residents supported this project. Preparatory work has already begun on the square, as well as in the children's park.

The children's park improvement project was developed taking into account the peculiarities of the area: the park is located in a lowland, and in the spring and during heavy, prolonged rains the area is flooded. As the old-timers said, it has always been like this, and children are forced to walk here in rubber boots. Based on this, the developers proposed the concept of a natural park: for activities, use only the high part of the park, which is not subject to flooding, and leave the rest of the territory untouched. In non-flooding areas, it is proposed to equip small children's and sports grounds, a stage, design entrances to the park, and organize an area for quiet recreation. The main alley will be replaced from asphalt to tiles, and new benches and lighting will be installed. It is proposed to improve the pond: it will be cleaned, paths will be laid along its perimeter, and piers will be built over the water.

Residents unanimously supported the improvement of the pond area, but opinions were divided on the rest of the work. Some townspeople agreed with the proposed solutions. Others countered: the park is very much loved by residents, and here we would like to see more diverse areas for different types of recreation, expand the children's and sports grounds, and make the stage more convenient for little artists. Also, townspeople complain that there is no gazebo in the park where they could hide from the sun or bad weather. Residents spoke in favor of thoroughly transforming the park, and for this, first of all, draining the low-lying part of the park. As noted by the head of the Center for Territorial Development of the Region, Sofia Poznanskaya, land work that involves draining water and raising the levels of the site is expensive; if you choose this option, you will have to abandon the development of the park.

The governor of the Ivanovo region, Stanislav Voskresensky, at a meeting with residents of Komsomolsk, proposed this year in the park, as the townspeople approved, to improve the pond, and to postpone the decision on other works.

“We need to make sure that the maximum area of the park is accessible to people, so that children can play without rubber boots. I suggest once again calculating with experts what kind of engineering solutions there might be. Let's see what solutions the engineers will offer us and how much they cost. Depending on this, we will make the final decision: we will do it this year or a little later. But what we need to pay attention to so that it doesn’t turn out that now we’ll make a park, and then, when we decide to do land reclamation, we’ll have to dig everything up. If we can make a park so that residents can already see improvements, and at the same time do land reclamation, that’s good. But the engineering part needs to be thoroughly thought through, I agree,” said the head of the region

.

He asked to involve specialists from the regional Vodokanal enterprise in preparing the calculations.
