Kislovodsk, strictly IMHO, is the best location in the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody, a beautiful and cozy town where you can fruitfully spend a few days, a week, or as much time as your heart desires. The tourist opportunities of this city cannot be covered in one article (but I will try), it is a city with the best climate in the region and the largest number of sunny days in the country.
We vacationed in Kislovodsk in winter (it was warm, but very humid), so the photos will be a little gloomy, but the impressions of the city are the most positive.
You can come to Kislovodsk for 1 day, but during this time you are unlikely to have time to see all the sights. It’s worth setting aside a full day just for a walk around the Resort Park, and on the second day you can go to museums and see architectural masterpieces.

Address:
Kislovodsk, Pobedy Avenue, 12
Operating mode:
performances start at 12.00 and 15.00
The circus recently opened after reconstruction, the spectator seats were changed to new, velvet ones, but the façade of the historical building remained unchanged. This circus does not have a permanent program, but famous groups come here on tour. The poster is updated every three weeks. Ticket prices vary depending on the stardom of the artists; on average, you will pay about 500 rubles for a ticket.
Every tourist should know
Today we will look at another resort town of the CMV called Kislovodsk. This city is beautiful at any time of the year. Kislovodsk is also valued for its large number of sunny days. While here, it is rare that the sun does not appear. The climate is quite interesting, at one moment it can rain and then in half an hour the bright sun will appear, and nothing will resemble cloudy weather.
The city of Kislovodsk itself is located on the mountains, so when traveling around the city, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing for walking. Also, if you decide to take a walk through the resort park of Kislovodsk, under no circumstances wear high-heeled shoes (trust me). Also, do not wear clothes that are not comfortable for long walks. Don't forget to bring a camera or video camera. For examples, see the photos and videos in the article.
There are also many sanatoriums in the city where you can undergo treatment or just relax. In many sanatoriums, you can rent a room with a view of Mount Elbrus and the entire Caucasus Range (a breathtaking sight).

Most likely, your acquaintance with Kislovodsk will begin from the railway station: even if you choose a plane, it will land in Mineralnye Vody, from where you can leave by train. all the details about how to get to Kislovodsk here.
The Kislovodsk station is very photogenic and very convenient: a small but well-heated waiting room + luggage storage available, and this is the main thing at the station.
Plus, there is an exhibition hall with an exposition about the history of railway transport, which is located in the same building as the station master.
Download walking markers for all cities of KavMinVod
Opposite the train station is the Philharmonic (unexpected, right?).
We will use the pedestrian crossing, which is located next to the waiting room, and we will find ourselves on one of the pedestrian streets of Kislovodsk - Karl Marx Street.
There are stairs leading from Marx Street to the Philharmonic Hall. The Philharmonic got the building of the Kursaal of the Vladikavkaz Railway Society (which means a resort hall), built in 1895.
From the site on which the Kursaal building was built, a small bridge begins over Marx Street.
An excellent viewing platform to view the Philharmonic from a different angle and look at the tourist promenade from a different angle.
In any resort town there is always a place aimed at tourists. In Kislovodsk this is Marx Street: here every first store offers souvenirs. On the street you can buy all imaginable souvenirs from Kislovodsk (we’ll talk about souvenirs below), including candies made in Nalchik. For some reason this is the emphasis here. We didn’t find out why the sweets from the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria are so good.
Right off the bat we got acquainted with one of the nice streets of Kislovodsk. Be sure to take a walk along it in the evening. Looks different:
I will outline the minimum plan that needs to be completed in order to see the city from all sides:
- Karl Marx Street (souvenirs and the shortest route from the station to the Narzan Gallery).
- Kurortny Boulevard (the promenade from Oktyabrskaya Square to Kurortny Park, in fact only 2.5 blocks).
- Dzerzhinsky Avenue is interesting with its mansions and observation deck (it climbs steeply up from the foot of the Cascade Staircase. It is enough to walk 4 blocks, and it is better to go down).
- Vokzalnaya street. One of the steepest streets in Kislovodsk, which you will have to walk along more than once. At a minimum - from the Narzan Baths to the station or to Chaliapin's dacha and the Solzhenitsyn monument.
- Alexey Rebrov street. It is better to go down it from the park. A very picturesque street.

Kurortny Boulevard is the main promenade of Kislovodsk, it is impossible to bypass it, because it is the only direct path to the beginning of the Resort Park (all the others allow you to enter the park from the side, skipping the Lower Park entirely).
Narzan baths are located on the corner of the boulevard and Vokzalnaya, they immediately attract attention.
The complex of the Main Narzan Baths was built in 1903 according to the design of the architect A.N. Klepinina.
Looks especially good in night lighting.
Stucco molding and mosaic are decorations of the facade.
But inside everything is somehow clumsy (or am I being picky?).
Opposite the Narzan Baths is the main Christmas tree of Kislovodsk. In summer there is a light and music fountain on this square.
There are many preserved architectural monuments on Kurortny Prospekt, and even more new buildings a la the 90s (but, unfortunately, there is a lot of this goodness in Kislovodsk).
The building of the Zipalova Hotel (early 20th century).
On the left is the Grand Hotel building (1902).
House of Colonel Mistrov (1890).
House of Officers (1850-1856).
October Narzan baths, built in 1928
The Narzan Gallery was built in 1848 according to the design of the chief architect of the Kavminvod, Samuil Upton. I must say that from the outside it makes a stunning impression, especially in the night illumination, but on the inside it didn’t look good at all, unlike its sister from Essentuki: the interior there is more luxurious.
In the gallery, among other things, you can see an exhibition of minerals, paintings, and go to a souvenir shop. For medicinal purposes, several types of narzan are offered: general table, dolomite and sulfate.
Please note the harmful nuance: the gallery is open with breaks: from 7 to 9 am, from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00.
Outside there is a “summer pump room”: when the gallery closes, in the summer you can get some water in this pump room (it is closed in the low season). Previously, this was a pump room for servants: maids, coachmen and other servants were not allowed into the gallery, but they still had access to medicinal water - outside, in a separate pump room.
The Narzan Gallery is most impressive when illuminated at night. Very similar to a castle.
Rebrova Street (formerly Comintern) is famous for the fact that the oldest house in Kislovodsk stood on it (built in the 20s of the 19th century)
- Rebrov's estate, described by Lermontov as the house of Princess Mary. Now this house is being restored (it was destroyed in the 2000s).
In the foreground is the restored chapel (it was built on this site at the end of the nineteenth century), in the background is all that remains of the house (exhibitions are now held there, admission is free).
Rebrova Street begins behind the Narzan Gallery and goes up to the park.
At its intersection with Marx Street there are former shopping arcades.
Resort park of Kislovodsk
From here begins the Resort Park of Kislovodsk, the largest attraction and the most interesting. The park was founded in 1823; by the 21st century its area had grown from 14 to two thousand hectares! There are a huge number of walking routes here, I’ll tell you about them a little below.
The beginning of the park (and its main entrance) is considered to be the Colonnade, built in 1912.
Opposite Kollanada - Lermontovskaya site

with the Demon's grotto
Strictly opposite is a colonnade,
main entrance to the Resort Park (built in 1912).
The resort park is designed in such a way that from its beginning you always rise upward, no matter what route you choose, because the park is located in the valley of the Olkhovka River on the slopes of the Dzhinalsky ridge. Altitude difference from 800 to above 1300 meters above sea level. A walk through the Resort Park is walking over rough terrain: constant ups and downs. There are an endless number of observation platforms in the park, but the best views can be seen from several points:
- Valley of Roses
- Gazebo "Seven Winds"
- Mountain Red Sun.
You can conditionally add Maloe Sedlo Mountain to these points, but this is already outside the park.
The entire park is divided into three zones:
- Lower Park. The first, the most accessible, where a lot of people walk and most of the attractions are located (monuments, gazebos, museums, cafes),
- Average park. Second, to get into it, you need to spend a certain amount of calories and make some effort to climb up (trail path No. 2),
- Upper Park. The third one is the most difficult to reach. Only for the most persistent and physically prepared travelers (treadmill No. 3 and exit outside the park).
It is believed that Kislovodsk is the founder of therapeutic walking; supposedly the first health paths in Russia appeared here in 1901. But I have doubts: I know for sure at least one health path that is clearly older than the ones in Kislovodsk - the Tsar’s Path in Livadia (her birthday is in 1861). But let’s leave these nuances to the conscience of the guides; they need to boast about something.
Now let's see what all these park areas offer us.
Walking area for everyone. Lower Park
This is a fairly large space that offers many views and a variety of photogenic locations. Path No. 1 runs through the Lower Park; it is the simplest and shortest. All treatment routes start from the Lermontov site. Let's see what you can see on this route.
Monument to Pushkin, who stayed in the Kislovodsk fortress in 1820.
Bridge over Olkhovka
The royal platform with the “Temple of Love” gazebo.
Ladies' Caprice Bridge (built in the 1900s) and Grotto of Love
The mirror pond with the Glass Stream pavilion appeared in the park in 1839.
We climb higher and admire the mountains. Middle Park
The average park already offers steeper mountains and a more difficult path. Here is Sosnovaya Mountain (we climb 400 steps to it) and a whole scattering of observation platforms.
In Kislovodsk Park you can see sandstone rocks of three colors:
- red,
- gray,
- blue.
Sometimes nature itself sculpts sculptures from sandstone, for example, Red Mushrooms, or something like this,
and sometimes they are created by man. The two man-made bas-reliefs in the park are very official. In Red Stones there is a bas-relief of Lenin.
The Kislovodsk Eagle, a symbol of victory over the disease, is also comfortably located in Red Stones.
In Gray Stones - in memory of those killed in the February 1934 uprising in Austria. This bas-relief, by the way, marks a good observation deck.
Indian head
Path No. 2a will lead us to the next attraction. Bookcrossing operates in the Air Temple pavilion (built in 1912) during the high season.
And next to it there is another observation deck. Here, in fact, this path ends.
The lower cable car station is also located nearby.
Pervomaiskaya glade.
The Valley of Roses is the most famous landscape layout of the park (created in the 1960s and 1970s).
“Maxi rose” - they say this masterpiece is visible from space. On the right is a thuja alley; there are several of them in the park.
Very naturalistic sculpture “Crocodile”.
Another must-see attraction in Middle Park is the Cascade Staircase. This is another exit (or entrance) to the park. Built in 1936.
In summer there are very picturesque fountains.
There is already plenty of space for walking in the Middle Park. Here at your service is health path No. 2. In fact, these are three whole paths: it is divided into several branches, the longest of which is No. 2b. The last, most difficult section of the second path is a mountain serpentine, along which we will climb Mount Red Sun. On the route there is a coniferous forest, that is, we breathe a wonderful pine smell. The paths are all well-maintained, with lanterns, benches and even sports grounds (shocker!).
Path No. 2 will lead us to the two most interesting sights on this route (and the most remote) - to the observation deck on Mount Red Sun and to the Blue Mountains, or rather, to the bas-relief of the Master of the Mountains.
The problem is that it is not a consistent journey. At one point you will find yourself at a fork to choose whether to go left or right. We decided to do the following: we went to the Red Sun Mountain, then to the Seven Winds gazebo, then to the Small Saddle Mountain, and from there we returned to the Blue Stones by a completely different road. I WARN: the way back was not on a path, and there were several unpleasant moments when you had to go down, literally hanging on tree branches (wet melted snow created such impassability that mom don’t worry), so I highly do not recommend repeating this route. I think that in the summer there will be another problem - in the form of sliding stones. In general, this is not a recommended route; it is better to go back along the path (even though it is boring).
So, we quite comfortably reach the observation deck on Mount Red Sun, where the monument to Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov is picturesquely located. In my personal ranking, this is the most picturesque and romantic monument to the poet at number 2 (number one, after all, in Tarkhany). By the way, during the week in Kavminvody we saw many monuments to Lermontov and Pushkin. It’s very strange, but they are not at all similar to the canonical images of poets, known to us from childhood from the paintings of their contemporaries. Why the sculptors neglected basic portrait resemblance is the question that haunted us throughout the trip.
Behind the monument you can see the “Red Sun” pavilion, built in 1935. In the summer there is a café there. During the low season, there is absolutely nothing offered for those suffering (so we carry water and a snack with us).
This is the view from the monument to the deceased poet.
And, since we are talking about the second path, I show you the cave in which the Master of the Mountains hid. Unlike the previous quite official bas-reliefs, which are in your eyes, you will have to look for this bas-relief, since it is hidden from the eyes of inattentive passers-by. And although there are all the clues in the form of signs, we found it the third time, and the people passing by, apparently, did not find it at all.
There are many grotto-caves in the Blue Mountains, call them whatever you want.
Here in one such cave
and this bas-relief is located (I marked it on the markers in maps.me, so download it and don’t rack your brains over this riddle).
On the way to the Master of the Mountains there will be a single dangerous section of a well-maintained path, it is marked as such. This is a deep and long grotto on a sharp bend. There is a path along the grotto, reinforced with a parapet.
Here's the view from the inside
In general, be careful, gentlemen travelers!
We conquer the path No. 3 and leave the park
Let me make a reservation right away: all the locations that I cite here, even within one conventional zone, are not located in one place, they are crowded together. This mistake cost us a lot of effort and extra kilometers traveled. The fact is that on the map (I always use maps.me) the elevation differences are completely invisible. Points with attractions can be quite crowded, which creates the false impression that this is one location. Not at all: between two neighboring points there can be a height difference of 100-200 meters!!!
So, take another look at the monument to Lermontov. To the right of your head you can see a gazebo on the mountain. This is the same gazebo “Seven Winds”, which offers stunning views of Kislovodsk and the surrounding mountains. Everything that you have seen up to this time is truly nonsense. It’s only here, on the way to this observation deck, that the very physical deprivations that I spoke about at the very beginning begin. On Mount Red Sun, health path No. 2 ends; only the most persistent will survive (just kidding, of course). But keep in mind that now on a short section (only some 900 meters) the height difference will be 100 meters! And this is a rather steep climb (elevation angle is thirteen degrees). But here, too, a well-maintained path No. 3 awaits us, so there is nothing to be afraid of, forward and upward. The landscaped paths of the Kislovodsk National Park end at the gazebo; by the way, this is an altitude of 1177 meters, and you will walk 5.5 kilometers from the Narzan Gallery!
The area near the “Seven Winds” gazebo was made at 5+. It’s very beautiful (it’s especially nice that in the low season there was almost no one here. I can imagine what it’s like here in the summer))))). The Seven Winds gazebo was built in 1970, which is not noticeable at all. All the buildings in the park, whether from the 19th century, the beginning, middle or end of the 20th century, are surprisingly harmonious.
This is the top of the Blue Rocks of the Dzhinalsky ridge. Now we can look down at the Red Sun Mountain (the monument to Lermontov is almost indistinguishable) and at the Kislovodsk Mountains.
It is to this observation deck that the cable car rises. So you can not expose yourself to hardships at all, but just ride like a breeze!
If you are traveling to Kislovodsk in the off-season, don’t really count on the cable car being operational. For example, when we visited, renovation work was going on there, and we had to rely only on our own strength. But in Pyatigorsk the cable car worked.
Mountain Small Saddle
After the cable car we head to the Small Saddle mountain, for this we go around the Olympic stadium and go out into the forest without landscaped paths, lanterns, benches and other amenities of civilization. Keep in mind that if you walk this road after rain or snow, it will be a terrible experience: there will be two kilograms of mud on your shoes, in general, it will be very unpleasant, but you can live with it. Another climb awaits us: the height of Mount Maloye Sedlo is 1325 meters.
Mount Small Saddle, or rather the same observation deck that we were aiming for and which is located at the very top of the mountain, is very flat, as can be seen in the photo. Its top is a narrow and long platform, from which stunning views of the surrounding area and Kislovodsk open in all directions.
Here, at the top, you understand the fantasy of those who named the mountain that way. It turned out to be such a huge saddle.
The first thing we did was go to the very edge of the mountain.
And they looked around. The mountains are simply stunning, even against the sun. ))))
From here you can clearly see a huge number of grotto caves:
And on zoom:
I don’t know how to get exactly to these caves or whether it can be done at all. We had enough of those that I wrote about earlier.
As I already mentioned, we decided not to return to the cable station and gazebo, but to take a different route.
As a reward, we got the opportunity to see Mount Small Saddle from the side, and here this name began to play with different colors. It really does look like a saddle.
Mountain Big Saddle
From the Small Saddle mountain in summer you can walk to the Big Saddle (even higher, even further - in winter you simply won’t make it before dark), but count on your strength!!! It’s better to still order a transfer. The views from there are also wonderful.
Kislovodsk modern
The windows have an unusual shape, and the tower is like a lighthouse built into the house.
Captain V.V.'s dacha Putyati (House with a Tower) was built in 1910.
Here we unexpectedly stumbled upon a completely unmarked monument at the end of a very nice pedestrian zone that runs along the temple.
A local resident who was caught passing by said that this is a monument to the first architect of Kislovodsk, Emmanuel Khodzhaev. By the way, the street bears his name. It was he who built “Chaliapin’s dacha” and many other buildings in Kislovodsk. And the sculpture was made by Ravil Yusupov, the author of the Pyatigorsk monuments to the swindlers Ostap Bender and Kisa Vorobyaninov.
Temple of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon
Dzerzhinsky Avenue. There is an excellent observation deck on the descent, and opposite is the mansion of Dr. K. Barth, now one of the buildings of a military sanatorium, successfully located in a variety of beautiful buildings.
Across the house is the main building of the sanatorium.
Tvalchrelidze's dacha built in 1905. Even a high fence is not able to hide this modern masterpiece.
The Kunduri dacha, which now houses one of the dormitory buildings of the military sanatorium, is located directly opposite.
Nearby in the park there is a monument to F. Dzerzhinsky. An interesting fact that we noticed after all our travels around the Kavminvody: here they didn’t really bother with perestroika with the renaming of streets and the demolition of monuments: Marx streets, in my opinion, are in every city, there are a lot of monuments to Lenin, and the impressive Dzerzhinsky in in the very center - just chic. And a fresh wreath.
By the way, on Kurortny Boulevard there is still a bust of Kislovodsk Cheka investigator Ksenia Ge.

Historical estate “Grace” of teacher A.N. Agafonova was built in 1896 according to the design of the architect E. Khodzhaev.
Four-star boarding house "Chaliapin" in buildings built at the beginning of the 20th century, entirely architectural monuments:
Not far from here is the Solzhenitsyn Museum in the historical Gorina mansion.
This amazingly beautiful mansion is surrounded by new sanatorium buildings under construction and is quite well hidden between them. The current chief architect of Kislovodsk clearly knows Zen and graciously accepts all this disgrace that is happening. Apparently, this is why the monument to the writer was erected on Vokzalnaya Street.
I was shocked when I saw him. In my opinion, the palm for the title of the most mediocre monument has been snatched from the weakening hands of Tsereteli.
Now we are going to Chaliapin's dacha. On the way, we pay attention to the Semashko sanatorium, not as magnificent as its counterpart in Essentuki, but also nice, with a bust of the academician - the founder of Soviet healthcare.
Our route ends at Chaliapin’s dacha, but while walking around Kislovodsk, from time to time you will discover mansions with obvious signs of Art Nouveau. Just rejoice at such finds; you won’t see all the monuments of regional significance in one trip.
Castle of deceit and love
One of the most interesting sights of Kislovodsk can rightfully be considered the Castle of Treachery and Love. Few people can believe that such an unusual name hides one of the mountain peaks, which received its name for its resemblance to a sitting, hunched man and a romantic legend. Local residents claim that in ancient times, the poor shepherd Ali and his beloved princess Dawn lived in this place. The two lovers were not destined to be together, since the girl’s father did not agree to an unequal marriage. Then the young people decided to commit suicide by throwing themselves off a cliff. Ali carried out their idea, but Dawna was afraid of death and, on her father’s orders, got married. However, she did not live long - she died of painful longing for her beloved. The girl's father was so saddened by his daughter's departure that he turned into a stone cliff. Under this cliff flows a river named Alikonovka in honor of the young man.
Today, tourists who come to see the castle and the site have the opportunity to stay in a comfortable hotel at the foot of the cliff and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. In addition, in the 70s of the last century, a very unusual restaurant was opened in the Alikonovsky Gorge, built in the form of a medieval castle. Local residents claim that the famous tenor Fyodor Chaliapin liked to relax there. And once he performed in one of the upper grottoes of the rock. Look at the photo to see what the Castle of Cunning and Love looks like.
Anyone who comes to relax in Kislovodsk can see and hear all this. The Castle of Cunning and Love is open to everyone - single travelers and excursion groups.

What's wrong with our weather?
The weather in Kislovodsk in September is suitable for spending as much time as possible outdoors. The sunniest city in the Caucasus does not betray itself even in the first autumn month.
According to statistics, in September you can expect 15–17 days of sun. The weather forecast for this September says that precipitation will fall no more than 10 times per month.
The rains here, if they happen, are usually short-lived and do not interfere much, but only bring pleasant moisture. But take an umbrella with you, just in case.
In September, compared to August, the air temperature at the resort becomes more comfortable for walking and visiting attractions.
At the beginning of September, during the day there are still warm summer days, when the thermometer rises to +23–25°C. In the second half of the month the temperature drops - by the end of September the daytime temperature is +19–21°C.
September night temperatures will bring pleasant coolness - +11-13°C. Even if you don't plan to leave the city, take warm clothes with you for the evening hours.

Narzan gallery
Not far from the Resort Park there is another attraction of Kislovodsk, which every guest of the city should visit - the Narzan Gallery. Initially, it was a simple canvas tent, but with the growing popularity of the drink - narzan, it was decided to replace it with a stone structure. The gallery became what it is today in 1851. It was built from yellow stone in the Gothic style; some compare the building to the castles of knights. Since its construction, the building has undergone minor changes, which did not affect its appearance in any way - the well was deepened, and the source was covered with a glass dome. This attraction of Kislovodsk can be seen in the video and photo in the article.
In the Narzan Gallery you can not only try the delicious and healthy drink Narzan, but also enjoy beautiful views during a leisurely walk. Tourists should definitely walk through the square with the fountain, look into the gallery building to see the Narzan streams flowing in the very center of the hall.
A huge advantage of visiting the gallery is free consultations with doctors on choosing water.

Holidays in September
Almost everywhere in Russia, city days are held in September. In Kislovodsk, this holiday will take place in 2021 on September 18. It is held on the third Saturday of the first autumn month.
City Day is celebrated cheerfully and noisily in Kislovodsk.
As part of the celebration, a dance marathon and a ladies' hat competition will gather spectators in the city center. Horse riding competitions will be held at Komsomolskaya Polyana. And on the mountain slopes you will be able to see, hear and taste the creativity of the region’s cultural communities. September weather is almost always favorable for the holiday. And it ends with a gala concert and fireworks.
Olga from Yekaterinburg writes in a review:
“In general, the September holiday in Kislovodsk turned out to be surprisingly useful, interesting and memorable. I hope to come here again and recommend it to everyone.”
Ring Mountain
In the vicinity of Kislovodsk there is a rather interesting place, which is also one of the attractions of Kislovodsk - this is Mount Ring. This attraction was created by nature itself. Over time, strong wind currents blew out a huge hole on the edge of the mountain that resembles a ring. At the foot of the mountain there is a coniferous forest. There, local residents have set up a small market where you can buy souvenirs to take home. Which will remind you of the time spent in Kislovodsk.

Museum "Dacha-Chaliapin"
Chaliapin really loved to relax in Kislovodsk and that’s why I come here, he rented a house for his family. Which is located among centuries-old pine trees. The mansion was built in Art Nouveau style in 1903. Now a museum has been set up in the mansion, which is called “Chaliapin’s Dacha”. By visiting it you will learn a lot of interesting things from the life of Fyodor Chaliapin and about the life of people of that time. The museum is open seven days a week, break from 12:00 to 13:00. What the museum looks like, look at the photos and videos in the article.

Kislovodsk temples
The resort city is inhabited by people of many nationalities who profess traditional religions. The main faiths have their own temples. A tour of Kislovodsk churches will delight connoisseurs of religious architecture.
St. Nicholas Cathedral
- Opening hours: daily, from 7:00 to 19:30.
- Telephone.
- Address: Mira Avenue, 19. Transport stop “St. Nicholas Cathedral”.
The wooden Church of St. Nicholas existed in Kislovodsk since 1803. At the end of the 19th century, a stone cathedral was erected in its place, and a little later a five-tier bell tower. The Bolsheviks did not spare the magnificent temple. In the pre-war years, the building was blown up. Only at the end of the last century did the authorities think about restoring the cathedral. It took 15 long years to build the church. The ceremony of its consecration took place in the spring of 2008. Modern architects tried to give the structure maximum resemblance to the destroyed building. Historically, the Armenian community of Kislovodsk has always been large. However, she did not have a confessional church for a very long time. The decision for construction was received only in 1992. Five years later, the construction of the church was completed, and the ceremony of its consecration took place in the name of Saint Vardan Mamikonyan. The structure, made of gray stone with a red tiled roof, immediately attracts the eye. You simply cannot miss the opportunity to admire a beautiful example of Armenian religious architecture. The exterior of the temple embodies all the best that is characteristic of the unique ancient style of architecture.

Due to the fact that at the beginning of the last century the population of Kislovodsk was rapidly increasing, there was an urgent need for the construction of another temple. The construction of the new church was completed in 1912. The two-tier quadrangle with eight domes, luxuriously decorated with rustication, became an iconic landmark of the city. The Soviet government did not spare the temple. First, it was stripped of its domes, and then completely dismantled. At the turn of the century, a decision was made to restore the church, albeit with a different exterior. Construction of the new five-domed cathedral lasted 14 years. Worship services under its vaults resumed in 2021.
