One of the popular vacation spots in the city of Izhevsk is the embankment named after the architect S.E. Dudin, located on the shore of the Izhevsky pond. It starts from Deryabina Passage, runs parallel to Militsionnaya Street to the north, after Bezymyanny Lane it changes direction to the west and continues to Pesochnaya Street. In the area of the Palace of Children's Youth Creativity it crosses the Podborenka River. The total length is 2.4 km.
Next door to it is the Southern Embankment named after I.F. Beloborodov, which occupies the right bank of the pond.
The embankment serves as a place of recreation for both citizens and tourists. Various creative events and activities are held here periodically. One such example was an exhibition of sculptures made from scrap metal. 10 figures reflected legends and real stories associated with Izhevsk. Now the street is decorated with such sculptures as “Iron Cow”, “Motorcycle”, “Descendants of Hephaestus”, “Warrior”, “St. George the Victorious”, “Cube” and others.

Story
The pond, on the banks of which the embankment is located, was formed by damming the Izh River. It began on April 10, 1760; several hundred serfs were involved in the work. The work lasted three years. Then the main outlines and coastline of the modern embankment were formed.
The reservoir was mainly used to move wood rafted along the Izh, to ensure the operation of the engines of the Izhevsk ironworks. The scale of the pond was increased 47 years later, in 1807, in connection with the start of construction of an arms factory.
The maximum depth of the pond was on average 3.5 m, the maximum width was 2.5 km, and the surface area was 24 sq. km. Currently, the pond provides water supply to the city.
The construction of the left bank in the central part of the city, where the embankment is located, began only in the 1970s. It received its name on April 4, 1988 in honor of the first architect of Izhevsk, Semyon Emelyanovich Dudin.

A new breath of life for the embankment occurred after the improvement in 2010. Large-scale work was carried out in the area from the Friendship of Peoples monument to the dam. Numerous benches were installed along the territory and an alley of trees was planted, refreshing the area.
The northern part, located after the Friendship of Peoples memorial, is currently fenced off, but passage through it is open. This side of the embankment is less landscaped: trees grow abundantly on the territory, the roads are mostly unpaved. Work to improve it still remains to be done.
