We often go with tents on weekends, but usually not far from Tula, but then we thought, why not go to the sea, to Chernoye? And let's go!
— I would like to immediately express my deep gratitude to the “sponsors of our project”: Tatyana Zhuchkova and her gulbarium “Dzhemete. To the sea - with a tent! kind people who unchained me from the battery for three whole days. Thank you, my dears! And now I’m telling you...
About the road
I would like to lie something about the teleport, like sitting on stools in my own kitchen and oops - already in Gelendzhik! But no. We drove a long 15 hours there and about 17 hours back, becoming related to the M4. We spent 7,167 rubles on gasoline (we refueled exclusively with Lukoil) and paid for all toll roads (925 rubles).
We left Tula on Tuesday, July 26 at 21.00. Perhaps, thanks to the right start, all the traffic jams were avoided! In reality there was not a single one, they even passed through Losevo. The way back was a little more difficult. We left at night on Sunday, July 31 at 3.00. We lost one hour in the legendary Losevo, and crawled around Novaya Usman for another twenty minutes. As for stops along the way, there weren’t that many: we refueled three times, walked once through sunflower fields, and once again visited an agricultural fair in the Krasnodar Territory (apricots, melons, that’s all). Of the interesting things along the road, I can only mention the Chalk Cliffs in the Voronezh region, a bike hotel with a Christmas tree made of motorcycles in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and Kolbasinova Shchel
Gelendzhik embankment
The length of the Gelendzhik embankment is more than 8 km. It is considered one of the calling cards of the resort. It has the shape of a horseshoe and stretches from Tonky Cape to Tolstoy along the entire coastline of Gelendzhik. The main feature of the embankment is a large amount of greenery. In addition, it is decorated in snow-white shades, which makes it especially memorable.
Gelendzhik - fountain on the embankment
There are shady alleys everywhere along the embankment. For tourists to relax, there are comfortable benches and picturesque flower beds. The walking area is paved with tiles.
The entire territory of the resort embankment is conventionally divided into several parts:
- Lermontovsky Boulevard;
- Revolutionary street;
- Primorsky Boulevard;
- Ostrovsky Street.
In addition, local residents divide the embankment into central, southern and northern parts. The southern embankment stretches from the Begemot water park to Tolstoy Cape. The central part is located between the above-mentioned water park and Sadovaya Street. The northern part of the embankment is the Tonky Cape area.

About camping "Sosnovka"
To be honest, I had little idea how one could live in tents for four days and four nights and not turn into a werewolf?! Well, two nights maximum. Maximum! So the Sosnovka camping site broke all the molds. All everyday inconveniences immediately faded into the background as soon as I saw THIS and realized that this was “my view from the window.”
to get to the campsite through Gelendzhik, the crushed stone road begins at the end of Fadeeva Street (enter in your GPS navigator: Gelendzhik, Fadeeva St., 48), then the signs begin and it’s impossible to get lost.
At the entrance to the campsite there is a chain on a nail and the Spider-Man administration office. No cash receipts or parking tickets. A boy with navvy nails will simply enter your car number in the “house register” and ask you to pay for your stay according to the price list.
What is a gazebo for 2000 rubles? Well, here she stands on the edge of a cliff, fits beautifully into the landscapes and makes you feel like the emperor of Sosnovka. If you shoot for a large company, it’s not that expensive.
Moreover, there are five such gazebos. As a rule, they are rented for the day, and at sunset they are empty, waiting for the “beneficiaries”
But when you have your own small tent city in the middle of a protected forest, where at night the stars cling to the tops of pine trees, you can hear the sea surf, barbecue is grilling on the grill and the aromas of the forest are such that you are about to choke,... no gazebos are needed!
Friendly advice: do not try to stake out a place closer to the path to the beach; the best places are to the right of the road and slightly deeper into the forest. On Saturday and Sunday, tons of locals arrive, and the entire “lower Sosnovka” turns into a camp for nomads - cars, tents, screaming children and happy dogs are everywhere. In general, not for everybody. Even in our wild corner it became too crowded on Saturday.
As for the amenities (I don’t know if they can be called that): the campsite has two village toilets, a shower with a tank on the roof, open from 17.00 to 20.00, a rental point for tourist equipment, a small non-alcoholic shop and a natural stream with non-potable water, but quite clear water for household needs. The nearest store that has everything can be found either in Gelendzhik (30-40 minute walk through the forest), or in the settlement closest to the camping with the same name Sosnovka (the distance is almost the same, but along dusty gravel). for garbage ; we didn’t notice any outright trash on the premises.
How to get to Sosnovka beach - the path through the holiday village
Sosnovka is located 3 kilometers from the edge of Gelendzhik beyond the Parus district. The end of the Parus district can be reached by routes No. 2, 8 and 20 with the final stop “Garazhi” on Fadeeva Street, marked on the map in blue with No. 1.
View from the final stop "Garazhi" to Fadeeva Street
From the stop, follow the path marked in orange on the map. The 800-meter road here runs along the city sidewalk and has a slight uphill climb. At the end of this section of the path, a view of the vineyard and the sea beyond will open on the right.
Vineyard on the way to Sosnovka
The city sidewalk will end here, the straight road will run into a concrete barrier, you need to go to the left.
End of the orange section of the road and turn left
Next, follow the 2.1 km path marked in purple on the map. This section of the path will first pass along a concrete road to the dacha village (marked on the map in blue with No. 2), and behind the dachas a forest country road begins, leading directly to the Sosnovka camping.

A fork behind the holiday village and a sign indicating that the road to the sea is straight
Further on there is another fork on the way to Sosnovka - keep right
About the beach
The road to the beach is steep in every sense! It takes about 10-15 minutes if you don't rush. And take care of the slates - they can die on the very first day. Well, take care of yourself too, just in case.
First, instead of stairs, there are rock ledges, tree roots and treacherous scree.
In the final stretch everything becomes more civilized.
From the top of the stairs you can see the very view for which we came from stuffy Tula and covered 1348 kilometers!
There are more people on the beach than we would like, but only a few remain at sunset :)) Be sure to go to the “front terrace made of white marble”, it is somewhere in the middle of the beach. There are pebbles all over the beach, and there are stone slabs descending into the sea in wide steps. They warm up well during the day, so sitting on them at sunset is a special thrill. Associatively - a hammam, only without drifts of foam and massage therapists.
Well, and then - the sun in champagne, the birth of clouds and the unity of souls to the music of the sea, the cries of seagulls and the fall of the sun And myriads, myriads of stars! It's hard for me to find words to describe all this.
The sea is warm, transparent and “silky”. I don’t want to go out at all, I want a mermaid’s tail and gills.
Description of the beach area
The dimensions of the wild Sosnovka beach are 290 by 7-8 meters. Its surface is very large pebbles, as can be seen from the photographs. Cobblestones are also rare, but completely flat. The approach to the bottom is at an average angle, so swimming here is quite pleasant.
But the water on Sosnovka is almost perfectly clean - a turquoise hue. There is little trash. The “dirt road” leads upward – to the campsite of the same name, and then higher – to the Sosnovoye microdistrict. Next to Gelendzhik. But before passing, you still have to climb the miraculous steps (they will be discussed below).
3D panorama of Sosnovka beach
Sosnovka is considered poor in terms of infrastructure. However, there are still some things for convenience here. We are talking about a long staircase made of wood and iron. It's several marches long. You descend along bright striped rocks, photographing the lower location from different heights along the way. Some people find the descent scary, but the structure is still strong.
Like the whole of Gelendzhik, Sosnovka beach is surrounded on all sides by natural beauty. The name itself indicates the closest one. The place is located under a ravine on which there is a forest of Pitsunda pine - the most common tree in Russian Transcaucasia. The campsite is located in this very forest, like a nearby neighborhood.
In addition, on one of the rocky cliffs there is a Gazebo - an amazingly beautiful structure. It should be used for a wide view of the sea or for a photo shoot. The stream itself is interesting, the mouth of which limits the swimming area from the southeast. Climb up its picturesque ravine, enjoying the fragrant grass.
Finally, take a closer look at the wild rocks around you. How many shades and ledges?! By the way, because of the steps, the beach is also called Ladder. Water makes its way down along them, or rather along the rocky shelves. Some days the wall is decorated with a waterfall. And this is also nothing more than a local landmark.

If you want to go two kilometers to the southeast, you will run into a beautiful fence. To the summer residence of the Patriarch of All Rus' Kirill. A palace, a “smart” house, a landscape park, a fenced water area, a yacht marina and a complex of themed guest facilities. Here you will learn how a shepherd lives, calling Russians to Old Testament asceticism and obedience.
The cemetery adjacent to the perimeter is closed to burials only because the funeral ceremony introduces the population of the “modest” monastery into inappropriate sadness.
About warm and cozy nights
Spending the night in a tent somewhere in the Tula region is almost always a provocation and a challenge to the body for me: at night I’m freezing, in the morning I’m suffocating from the heat. Attacks from mosquitoes, wasps and midges are a bonus. And here, in Sosnovka, there is some unprecedented comfort! There are no annoying insects, even the singing cicadas fall silent after sunset. In general, we slept with the “door” half open and without a mosquito net. The nights are warm - about +20. In the morning there is no stuffiness - because there is a dome of pine trees above the tent, and the sun does not have time to heat up. And before the trip, we bought a self-inflating travel mat. Awesome thing! All the jets and air mattresses in the world are “resting.” I don’t know how long this rug will last, but so far it’s nothing but delight: soft, warm, compact and very homey.
Weather
“Lesenka” is visited not only by tourists, but also by local residents. At the height of the season it is hot here, the water temperature is comfortable, but the air sometimes gets too warm. It is best to relax in September, when the heat of the sun is no longer so intense. And walking to the beach is quite comfortable.
In the heat, if you have health problems, it is better to abandon the idea of visiting this wild vacation spot. It will be problematic to walk and make steep descents and ascents.
About raccoons
An unexpected and pleasant bonus from Sosnovka - after midnight, raccoons come out of their holes. Sometimes they come out :))) The real ones. Our meeting took place on the very first night, somewhere around three o’clock... First I heard some suspicious stomping, then a guttural hooting and slurping sound. And as soon as she realized that the tent was surrounded, she resolutely woke up her husband: “Damn, there are some ghouls walking around there!” He: “Well, maybe a dog or a cat?..” And then a creature posing as a dog or cat began to move around on the table! “Ahhhh, it’s on the table!” The very next minute, in the light of the phone, we discovered a RACCOON. He sat a step away from us, sweetly moving his paws and savoring Tula bread :))) A fur mountain half a meter high, with glowing eyes and enviable calm. We immediately fell in love with him as if we were our own, and I ran to the car to get a camera. The raccoon slowly walked into the juniper bushes... His gait read: “How did you all get me!” And then the steps again. We have already armed ourselves with a more powerful flashlight. The raccoon walked economically in our direction, making its way through the thickets. Insolent! I even suspected him of being mad. And behind him... came another raccoon, and after that another, and then a third, and a fourth. Some kind of caravan of raccoons :))
A mother raccoon and four baby raccoons. Continuous mi-mi-mi. While they were eating bread and digging in the barbecue bucket, I calmly photographed them and was touched.
The raccoons left as soon as they were sure that there was no barbecue left and no bitten bread either. In the following days we switched to canned food and stopped being interested in raccoons.
Wildlife Corner
Every year this city, located 40 kilometers south of Novorossiysk, receives about three million tourists from all over Russia. These data from official statistics a priori provide:
- High occupancy of hotels and inns;
- Crowded city beaches;
- High prices.
A corner of Gelendzhik, where prices, accommodation conditions and nature itself remain stable at any time of the year, is the Sosnovka beach. Among the visitors to this beach there are regular customers and those who are here for the first time, there are romantics and moderate adventurers. However, they are all united by the desire to retire from the achievements of civilization. And judging by the popularity of this beach, they succeed.
We will not be mistaken if we imagine a set of things necessary to relieve fatigue, the opportunity to forget worries for a while and surrender to the pleasure of a good rest from the following components:
- Cozy bay;
- Clear sea and its shores;
- Few neighbors;
- The main source of sounds is nature.
The population of Gelendzhik, which is approximately 70 thousand people in the autumn-winter period, at least doubles from May to September. Sosnovka Beach can be taken as an opportunity to retire from crowded city beaches, queues in cafes and canteens, and at the same time get complete unity with nature.
This shore received its second name - “Ladder” - thanks to a two-hundred-meter descent that will need to be overcome in order to be directly at the water. This is perhaps the only thing that can be attributed to the inconvenience of this wild beach. If the path of five hundred steps and eight to ten minutes in time does not seem like a serious test for you, then the path to the top is guaranteed to be much more difficult and longer.
However, against the backdrop of a charming steep coast, an incredible view of the sea, which becomes more and more luxurious with every step, this may turn out to be a mere trifle.
About the menu
Well, our first dinner was royal: shish kebab-mashlyk, fruits and vegetables, all kinds of greens, bohemian alcohol... The next day we realized that it was time to throw out half of the tomatoes, even raccoons would not be happy with the remains of shish kebab and, in general, it was time to switch to canned food, seeds and crackers with raisins. Only alcohol and hookah have not fallen under the power of time.
True, we did have lunch once in Gelendzhik, like adults. Lunch for three cost 3 thousand rubles. (sausages with side dish, ajapsandal and beer). The establishment was called “Grateful Gelendzhik”.
Once again we tried to visit a pretentious establishment called “Tent Club” on Tolstoy Cape, the highlight of which is the pool “floating” above the sea . Cool, you can’t say anything. The cheapest beer was “Spaten” - 360 rubles for half a liter. These are the merciless Russian resorts. The capacity of the pool is 60 people, I asked. Well, somehow it’s not crowded...
We also tried pineapple melon for the first time (80 rubles each, sold at any vegetable market). Well, that's it, a lyrical digression. Potatoes are better!
